Someone on here said he was offered a deal with 50% decrease in salary. That probably explains his departure. I was on the fence with him staying/going. Not fussed either way.

 

AOC will do okay with a new club. He didn't do as badly here as some people make out but the club and him need a fresh start.

 

Novak has missed 30 games this season. We can't afford water carriers.

 

He's also got enough about him to progress under a new manager.

 

Non will be missed Novak did well but he was injured in o much this year and is knocking on, Wood a year ago if you’d have said I’ll be glad to get shut I’ve had called for the men in white coats. His head and heart weren’t as in it this season imo.

 

Not that surprised by any on the list. Needed a big clear out. Think AOC would ask for far too much than we are willing to offer. Happy with Wood going, think he knew his time was up. Had a really poor season, especially after the ones he had before. Wood will be 25 when next season starts, no longer can band about that youth card, should be a ready pro at 25 and he's looked far too shaky the last 12 months.

You would have to assume that the new manager (whoever that is) must have been consulted - there's no way Sparks would have taken these decisions on his own, unless they were all agreed with T&S before Sunday (but then if you were CEO and knew T&S were on the way out, why would you let them make the call on retained players?) So unless Turnbull is involved (doesn't seem like his remit really) it must be the as yet unannounced manager calling the shots. Must've been on board for a while?

 

He will get a good club and probably do well.

Feel a bit for AOC, but also the question would be where is he going to play, presuming you have a back four

Paudie / Canavan have to be the pairing, because it simply makes the most sense in that pace / toughness combination that is most likely to work

He isn't naturally a RB or CDM for us to put our hat on

I also think that (like Woods) maybe, even if it's only at a subconscious level, his three seasons which coincide with one of our worst spells - means that it's very hard for him to become a dynamic force for a promotion push

But I do think he'll be a miss. He's a very technically correct defender and I'll always marvel at his performance against Exeter last season, who quite honestly could have scored five, before we broke away and scored, if it hadn't been for him.


I'm fine with Evans staying. An experienced player like him who only last season was getting Portsmouth into the play-offs, just two points away from promoted Rotherham and making 27 appearances, has something we can use - with the correct manager and a good pre-season behind him. Even if it's only as a squad player

I would expect 7/8 signings added to that. Id like to see Staunton given a go, is he any kop at left back?

 

Back to the Rahic era. Retained list announced with no manager in post. Might as well forget about a manager and just let Sparks and turnball get on with it. Could get Collins back to do a spot of coaching.

 

I assumed he was on about £3k a week. Came from Aberdeen and got a L1 Edin contract. The year our wage bill was £4.2m.

If he was then i would say £1.5k is about right. Maybe £2k at a push.

 

Did I miss something regarding Bryce Hosannah? not mentioned on that list!

FCD and Foulds are centre backs who can play full back. We definitely need specialist full backs for first choice next season
