Thanks for that, I'll try it in April, we are booked up till then, such is our beer fuelled lifestyle.............Interior pics look a bit, er, stark but the lighting looks diffused, so I'll cope. I enjoy an evening in Bingley.

Cafe Moor was closed in Leeds market today, was closed last week too..........had some oysters at Hayes seafood stall, a tub of cockels, then some more oysters. Like living like a king, think I spent a tenner.......

Called last night table booked for 8:30 quite busy but shown straight to table. Four of us really enjoyed our meals. I had taken a couple of craft beers but I get what you say about some of the customers. Strolled over to the Browm Cow couple pints of Landlord nice evening after a s**t day at V.P

Enjoyed my steak. Busy place. Staff were top.

Bit too much of that zigzagged balsamic glaze knocking about on plates like it's 1995 for my liking.

Didn’t rate it when I went back in the summer. Unless I picked the wrong thing but it was average steaks at best to say that’s what they are basing it on.

Went to mamma mias a few weeks back. Table of 6 sat right in the pizza oven practically. Although it was a good doo and didn’t mind the Italian lager they had on tap too. Food was standard Italian but couldn’t argue.

Although we were certain we read somewhere you got discount as a season ticket holder but when asked they said the club made that up and it wasn’t something they agreed on. However we did get a complimentary tomato garlic bread to share as city fans. Will definitely go back

Agree. Blast from the past from old uni days. The chicken kebab was so good you would happily eat it sober. Thats always a good sign to me

Went out for an early dinner in Leeds prior to seeing Brian Cox at Leeds Arena (OH did physics and maths at Uni many years ago, my Valentine's day treat!). We popped in to MyThai on Wade Street just around the corner. We got a seat straight away at 5.45 pm. You can't reserve a table and the emphasis is definitely on processing lots of customers quickly. The seats are a bit uncomfortable and I am sure that is to encourage you not to linger too long.

The food is however excellent. I had fish cakes to start with - the dipping sauce was the best bit, nice and spicy without taking your head off, OH had spare ribs which he enjoyed. My main was king prawn pad thai and OH had tamarind duck with rice. Huge portions and very tasty indeed. It is also inexpensive. With 2 soft drinks and 2 courses our total bill came to £27.50!

When we left there was a queue of about 25 people waiting. I can definitely recommend if you want something tasty and inexpensive before a visit to the Arena. They have 2 other restaurants in Leeds and one in Frizinghall near the Turf which are more standard type restaurants that take reservations.

Went for a curry last night with friends to Jani's in Baildon. It isn't bad for a standard curry place with good service and reasonable prices. We often go there as it is half way between our friends who live in Burley in Wharfedale and us who live in Moorhead. You can generally get a table without too much trouble but we had booked last night and I am glad we did as it was full.
Their sizzler dishes are very good, I had a king prawn one and OH had a chicken liver one, both were excellent. Their breads are good too. Main courses were OK but they did seem to very similar to one another whatever you ordered.

Aldo’s last night at greengates. Just don’t get the fuss with that place? Expensive if not on early bird and bang average food!

All felt very rushed too and no time to enjoy your courses.

If you go wear a t shirt as it’s roasting

Went to Bab Tooma, Syrian Restaurant on Wilton Street last Wednesday.
I'm often not a massive fan of Middle Eastern restaurants. Eg, I've never understood why so many people I know seem to rate that place on Little Horton Lane, near St Luke's Hospital - bang average IMHO.
But I really liked Bab Tooma. I had a halloumi and zataar manaeesh starter along with hot potatoes and spicy sausage from the hot mezze selection. All excellent, but IIsoon realised this was waaaaaay too much for starters. Obviously, I still ate it all, and then struggled to get through my lamb mince stuffed aubergine main course, although it was very tasty. The lemon & mint juice drink was lovely too. Bill came to approx £23.
    I'd definitely go back.

Classic Persian do you mean? Never been myself but heard a few say it’s decent?

That's it, Classic Persian. I've been there three times with work colleagues. Each time it's been OK, but nothing to write home about.
Most middle Eastern restaurants rely heavily on grilled lamb and chicken. I'm not a big kebab fan, so the non-skewer dishes have to be good. I thought the selection and standard of dishes at Bab Tooma was much better than at Classic Persian.

I've never been but, aye, everyone raves about it. Similarly Bab Tooma. Need to try both.

Not enough bread or cheese in Thai scran to make me a regular scoffer of it, but often hear good stuff about MyThai and some other places in Leeds.

I haven't been but you should try that place on Park Row. Think it's called Le Chalet and one a week or so they have a night called L'Art du Fromage. Fondue, raclette etc. Winter fare and probably cheaper than the Alps

    Dream on.... :D

Can hardly believe it, Giles Coren in Shipley! Notice a lot of "Bradford" in the article when l suppose that's the last word that the restaurant would try to trade on. What a coup for The Waterfront, l really hope they profit from it.

I can only think of 3 places, 3 FFS! in this large city that a reviewer could go to for "proper" food and all 3 are in Saltaire/Shipley.

It'd be good to see a few city-centre Bradfordians getting behind the Coren review on social media. The headline itself is summat to run with but the silence from some is deafening.
