Restaurants and stuff

Hope they're footing the bill....

 

Never made it to Los Pampas. Got tempted by a meat and tatey pie in Halifax borough market.

 

Spur of the moment......heading there now. Looking forward to it.

 

Well that was very good. The Bird was a bit smaller and more basic than I was expecting but good service and good food. The mustard fish tikka starter was fantastic, pick of our dishes.

 

It’s a starter place for them and the menu is small but I really enjoy their food!

 

Couldn't fault it.

 

Went to Six by Nico in Leeds before Christmas, and really enjoyed it.

Jodhpur in Kirkstall, absolutely fantastic.

 

Big question but with so many really decent curries in Leeds now, is there any curry places in Bradford better?

 

It's an interesting concept Six by Nico. We booked a couple of months in advance, but then when the new menu came out we just didn't fancy anything so gave the booking to some friends....who loved it

 

Another impromtpu curry last night and somewhere else I'd never been before. Bhajis and Beer near Greengates traffic lights. It was very good, highly recommend it.

 

Never heard a bad report from there.

 

Just booked for a night at Shibden Mill Inn for wife's birthday on 21st Feb. £245 for a superior double room, breakfast, plus £40 each towards dinner.

Last time we went was pre-pandemic, so looking forward to seeing if it's still as good as it was last time. I'll report back here afterwards.

 

Any ideas on nice grub up in central Edinburgh. Off up on Sunday and recommendations welcome

We like La P'tite in Randolph Place but they are open Tueday to Saturday.
What type of food do you prefer?

 

Steak, Italian and my absolute favourite, fish (lobster, salmon)

 

I’d be expecting a butler service at that price! Hope it’s good any how.

Knock off the 80 quid towards dinner included in the price and it’s £165 for bed and breakfast for two at a top quality country inn/hotel. Not sure where you think you’d get anything of that standard any cheaper.
Jeez, we’ve had to pay over £100 for room only in a Premier Inn before now, in other parts of the country. It looks like a bloody bargain compared to that.

 

We will be celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary 15th March; has anyone any suggestions for either lunch time or evening meal. We are quite easy to please, but we enjoy French and English food. Anywhere within reason Dales, Halifax, and Bradford area.
