Akpan has been slated. And rightly so in my opinion. No energy, enthusiasm or desire. Strolling through the game without trying to grab it by the balls.
In fairness though, I don't know what DH was doing leaving him all alone in the centre. Anderson should have been given much more gametime.

We aren’t a good team so it’s no surprise we get hammered a fair few times over the season. It doesn’t mean we are certainties for relegation just means we’re in a relegation fight (which we all knew).

I still think we can stay up, we’ve shown, during that good run, that we can score goals and win games so we just need to make sure we can go on another similar run before the end of the season. Likewise, with results and performances like this, we could easily get relegated. Our season is still very much in the balance.

Not taken a single point after going behind all season.

That’s pathetic and tells you everything about the character of this side.

But wait, there's more! Only twice in 16 league matches have we even come back to level terms after falling behind...before, of course, going on to lose. Worser and worser...

Just when you think some character is developing -- the reaction to the Sunderland defeat was just what was wanted -- they come up with yesterday.

Andf to cap it all, about a foot of snow has fallen over yesterday and last night, and my snowblower has been inspired by City and given up! Grrrr!

4 class goals, that in all instances could of been stopped before happening? Loss of the ball, weak players, players out of positions. They shouldn't of been allowed into the positions to score

You have a very idealistic view of the game if you think that we can stop the opposition from ever scoring against us.

The trouble is that the opposition we have faced, have managed to score against us 47 times, yet we have only achieved the same feat 31 times! How come other teams stop us, yet we cannot stop them?

My point was in general that its completely ridiculous to expect us to stop other teams scoring against us. As for your point its been well documented on here why that is.

Im not disagreeing that this side lacks character, but it does need pointing out that throughout that period of recovery we did show spirit in the cup. Against Peterborough, twice.

In the league I take the point we have wilted more often than not when trailing.

The bottom line is this. Without the addition of a decent forward, a left back, a holding midfield player (who can pass a football) and a winger, we are just about gone. December's little flurry of points had bred complacency. The fact is that we still in very deep sh*t. I honestly think that Saturday may, oddly, have done us a favour. If Rupp and others don't realise now that we need some serious reinforcement, they never will. The clock is ticking and I am far from confident that we will do meaningful business; I reckon that we will have to keep hoping that this bunch can somehow sneak us over the line. I hope that I am wrong, but I just don't see it happening. Back to Division 4 and another rebuilding job I reckon. To all those who slated Parky at times, just think on. His team had spirit. This lot are done for once a single goal behind.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. They certainly hadn't become the latter after a month's worth of good performances and results, but that's no excuse for what we witnessed yesterday.

Did the manager overthink it? When all's said and done he's not massively experienced, would an experienced assistant have warned him off messing about with the formation and tactics? All though, it hardly takes masses of footballing nous and experience to know that if it's not broken, then it's probably a bad idea to try and fix it. Especially when performances and results prior to that month's worth of good form were almost universally abject.

Did our previous opponents over the last month or so think they'd be in for an easy game, take their eye off the ball, foot off the gas and underestimate their opponents?

I'm struggling to comprehend just why he's messed around with something that was working. Particularly when both confidence is fragile and every single point is vital.

I think the extra week off has killed our momentum and gave Hopkin too much time to think and tinker with it.

Get back to how we were before.

Get a target man type in this week (stead mould not Hanson type) and a left winger. Give the aide some balance it has lacked since the summer window and give us other options especially off if the bench

Regards Akpan l, i agree with you to some extent. He doesn’t inspire me as a player but he wasn’t the worst player on the pitch on Saturday. Hopkins tactics hang him out dry somewhat, the long ball tactics left him in no mans land time and again. We desperately need another CM amongst other signings and they have to be this week as we are running out of time. Our inactivity has already seen us drop back into the bottom two and todays reading in the T and A has left me worried that these players may not come at all.

I do not need to back my judgement with silly bets trying to prove a point, The fact is he has had 29 games in charge and won just 6, We look no better now and unless major signings are made am not sure he has the qualities to keep us up, We need 27 points from the 18 games left which will not be easy. That is my opinion and as a keen fan hope I am wrong but we are in a survival battle for sure and not sure Hopkin can save us on his showing so far

Agree to an extent. Clearly and maybe it's just German caution (not been racist - that pragmatism of their's generally serves them well) that they're unwilling to take a punt, i.e. like Southend and Scunthorpe have done - but clearly he will now

In midfield, unfortunately O'Brien needs a couple of games break - but can't because we decided not to give the other one an 18 month contract and clearly we're still hanging on Reeves coming back

However, one good thing about Saturday, is that they will now probably throw a bit of caution to the wind

Akpan is fine, but needs one or two runners alongside him. Get Scannell in that team and an on form O'Brien playing alongside him and he's then performs a very good defensive midfield role, like we saw against Scuny. I like the way he hardly ever gives the ball away. He can actually pass it quite well and we need his muscle in there - because everyone else is a bit lightweight

Can’t beat 10 man shit, we are fecked! Relagation is turning into reality or has. Season tickets need to be reduced to £100.

So we can only afford an even shitter team...?

You couldn’t give me a season ticket for next season, whatever division we’re in.
