Reevesy is doing OK

Can't remember who it was that said he was over trained by Edin's coach when he wasn't fully fit.

 

I don't know anything about any mis management(allegedly) but I wouldn't discount what Tolly said. I do believe the club are doing the talking and the player isn't which highlights to me that something isn't right or hasn't been right.

So,if what you're saying is true then Reeves could have a case could he not?

It's based on him being out for 20 months. Nearly 2 year! And some thing he can just act like nothing has happened. If the injury was that serious then no way would we be rushing him back. He played in one of the most pointless games of the season and did well but come on!

Anyway, considering we're talking about one of our players and one of ex players needs our support urgently in Darby then it will be to the Darby Rimmer MND fund.

So not to feature in the league before Christmas. He can be on the bench.

If I am wrong then damn Bradford City must be desperate to send early Christmas presents.

 

I think it was @wetherbywhaler who said the German fitness coach Rahic brought in Robett Lossau had Jake doing stuff that was detrimental to the injury he had, and instead of his injury being nursed back as Bowyer and his team are doing Lossau actually made his injury worse hence the time its taken him to get back.
Total faith in Bowyer and his backroon team, he realises bringing injured players back too soon could be detremenatal to not only the player but the club.

Beep beep Fordy reversing, stop trying to deflect the comnents you have made several times.
As he's been out 22 months or so he will not come back the same player, you said we don't have fitness/conditioning coaches with that sort of experiance required.
The best thing we could do is send him out on loan....no that is possibley the worse thing we can do, another club handling our players who are returning from a long term injury.

Like I say it's not normal a player being out for so look and not give an interview or interviews about their progress or aims etc.

Not at all, all along I have said the club will manage our injured players be that two weeks two months or as you say 22 months.
You've heard why the lads injury went backwards, unfortunatly at the time Drury was our head coach and had far too much on his plate and took his eye off the Jake Reeves sitution.
Hopkin had to get us back up and running in the league, again more to worry about that Reeves.
Bowyer comes in and openly says he will not rush injured players back as in many cases it is detrimental to both the player and the club.

Darby/Rimner Foundation I'm not bothered, so I take it you have accepted the bet, good man.

We received clarification on Reeves' situation which the pair of you have seemingly missed. According to Roger Owen, he was made to do intense training whilst still carrying a knock which made the issue 10 times worse and played a big role in his prolonged absence.

In addition to this Bowyer has clearly managed him very astutely. He was made to follow a specialised fitness programme over the summer, has been given lots of encouragement in the press and above all, his progress has been monitored intently which has allowed us to get him into a position where he can finally play football again. In comparison, if you read Hopkin's comments in the press he had absolutely no idea what was going on with him some 12 months after his absence which is not only bad management but complete disregard for a player who deserved better.

He owes us nothing.

Just shows what a very good man manager Bowyer is to especially Hopkin who publicly outed certain players.

Got to agree with you there. Its quite amazing for some posters on here to question if GB is the right man for this club.
He speaks well, conducts himself well and clearly has a genuine affection for the club and fans.
Jake Reeves is a situation that, so far, has been handled well by GB and he has kept Reeves away from the press etc.
Hopefully we will reap the rewards if Reeves can stay fit.
Yes last nights game was a bit of a dead rubber BUT Reeves still made the passes, saw the runs and made himself available for the ball and was a stand out MOTM. That's MUCH more than you can say for some of our other midfielders right now.

 

I think some people have selective memories when it comes to the Hopkin era. Remember the club was a basket case when he took over and he was tasked force a quick turnaround. Of course he outed players. That's what was needed. His handling of Reeves was born out of pure frustration that one of the supposedly better players he inherited wasn't around to contribute and stop the tailspin. Remember there was no opportunity for him to shuffle the pack. Bowyer has shown great patience and skill to finally see Reeves back on the pitch. To criticise and compare this approach to Hopkin is ridiculous. He simply didn't have this luxury and rightly focussed on the meagre pickings of what was available.

 

I do think it is a fair comparison though. Did he talk to Reeves and the medical staff to understand the injury properly before half insinuating that somehow Reeves wasn't motivated enough or a bit of a wuss - the "you have to play through a bit of pain sometimes" comment springs to mind. That calling out of Reeves struck me as very poor.
