When I read @Steve1970 comment it fair tickled me, just how wrong could you be with regards Jake Reeves, send him out on loan .

He's on the bench.. not played a minute for us yet.

Will more than likely play on Tuesday or when we play that joke game.

After that when Harry, Donaldson, Palmer, McCartan are back we might not see Reeves for another 20 months.. he needs to go out on loan for at least a month in my mind.

 

What do you mean how wrong could I be?, well it was you who suggested he went out on loan to get himself match fit , were as I said our fitness/conditioning coaches would want to do that, nurse him back, player management call it what you will.

You could be correct he might not get game time today, looking at the Swindon squad today it looks like we aren't allowing Doyle to be Cup tied, good move from Bowyer, so if he doesn't get game time today he will I would suspect get some Tuesday night,

 

That's what I have. The squad(bench mainly) looks to have Tuesday's game in mind. Reeves will more than likely play a part in that. He might come on today but after Tuesday I don't see how he gets game time as I would like to like Harry, Palmer, Donaldson, McCartan are close to return.

So a months loan isn't a stupid thought as I am sure Reeves will want match time and the club would benefit as a 60% fit Reeves is better than a 100% fit Devine. It's one of them but Reeves isn't superman and he needs match time.

 

He was always going to come back. It's his career. Not one was retirement talk mentioned.

He's out of contract in the summer and needs to prove himself.

For me it's see you later come the summer no matter what anyway.

Any game time today will be a big challenge for Jake, I believe that's more Bowyer's reason to pick him how Jake will reacted if brought on, out for almost 2 years even 20 minutes will give our backroom guys an idea of what his mental fitness is like.
Then another run out on Tuesday night, slowly a game at a time and hope there is no reaction.

 

People have broke their leg in 3 places and been back quicker.

Not many players out for 20 months with a groin injury. What size is his groin.. like a horse.

TBF most football clubs are not run like a normal business. Most run at a loss and are propped up by benefactors of one kind or another.

The Reeves case is an unusual one especially due to the length of time he has been out.

Unlike @Fordy117 and a few others I think the club have shown great spirit in keeping him and hopefully getting him back out on the pitch again.

 

I suspect he had issues with mental health and city wanted to help. Just a guess but signs are there for me on this one. Well done city either way.

Don't get why people don't understand that he has been out for 20 months and it's going to take time. I doubt Bowyer isn't even thinking about introducing to the 1st team squad anytime soon. We have players coming back soon that are more important that Reeves. I think he will play on Tuesday then we will see how he is after the game then go from there. He might play a part in the reply but league matches I don't think we will see him this year still.

 

As many stated the game being called off next week really meant it was wise to put out a full strength team. It would be foolish not too.

However, his bench had Tuesday's Mickey Mouse game in mind.

I'm not saying he will start the reply but I think he will be on the bench but in the league we will hopefully have Harry, Palmer, Donaldson back soon enough and McCartan was only out for 2 weeks, Cook back for the next game. All these players are more important than Reeves. Sorry but that's the truth of the matter.

 

Okay, but only Palmer and Cooke play center mid position (same as Reeves), so Donaldson, Pritchard, and McCartan are irrelevant. Palmer and Cooke aren't even our players, so surely GB would favor giving minutes to Reeves over Palmer? Palmer will also take time to get up to speed after his lengthy layoff.

I think he will play some part in the joke game on Tuesday the maybe the replay but after that I don't know. Maybe, round 2 if we get through.

I don't see how he gets these 20 mins here and there.

Month loan still is the answer for me.

 

Well most can play on Tuesday in the mickey mouse game.
