Listening on Ifollow I get what I'm given really.

Not a big fan of Kiwomya but it was nice to listen to Tumble or Jonesy from time to time. I bet they have a contract with Kiwomya for a set number of games but if they switched it around more often it would be better.

Reading this thread you have to smile we had two free opinions of listening to how our team were performing if we couldnt get to the game, yet reading some comments you'd think it was compulsary to listen to one or the other.
Only Bradford City fans could get so worked up about football, I dont know how some would have coped when you only had "The Pink" to read about your teams explots away from home that is if you didn't catch the "Final Score" from the BBC on the crystal box regarding how your team had done.

Dave I can still remember waiting for the pink Yorkshire Sports to be delivered to the local newspaper shop in Denholme to find out how City could have lost 9-1 at Colchester a week before we were due to play Arsenal in the cup.
    Happy days?

We queued up outside the local newspaper shop around 5ish and when we saw the T&A van pulling up raced to get the strapped up bundle to hand them in at the shop then stood outside reading what the days results meant to our relegation fight or our promotion battle, the former usually being the case :(.

I take your point, Bronco, but those of us abroad and listening on the internet have had no choice but to listen to whichever station was chosen by the official app/website. Even when we're paying for it, the only choice is listen or don't listen.

In fact, when I first moved to Poland in the early 90s, I had a short wave radio that just about picked up the World Service. Saturday afternoons would see me desperately trying to hold the radio at an angle good enough to hear the classified check. Often, interference would occur just as City's result game up. The number of times I came close to throwing the radio against the wall ...

We have certainly come a long way from those days, remember well the days when the only way you could find out of how the lads were going was to actually ring the club who they we were playing on the day/night.
You'll remember the days when you had to put your pennies into the phone box before getting through, you hoped the person on the other end told you the score or it could cost you a bob or two.

    Absolutely
    Those were indeed the days
At my local shop in Wrose I used to wait at least 20 mins for the "Pink Un" to arrive and had to skip quickly passed how well our friends from Beeston were doing to get to the match report on our latest away day. Nowadays there is total uproar if the Internet drops for 10 mins !!!
I also remember the T&A seller in the Kop with his famous
"Racing and Half Time Scores" sales pitch, boy was he ribbed mercilessly
No memories will be created from a quick glimpse at a mobile device am afraid

We used to go to the Avenue in order to get the halftime time scores.

Season before last it was audio only or video only. I had a whole Saturday routine built around listening to the game. Cooking and drinking followed by happy drinking if we'd won and grumpy drinking if we'd lost. Either way there was drinking. ;-)
Now, watching games with commentary is great but the family aren't happy that we have to eat later. Still get to drink though. ;-)

Didn't they revive it late nineties, early noughties? I remember getting it on a Saturday evening not long after The Old Bank opened in centre of town...again before the sophisticated technology of smart phones!!

Just thinking back @The Original EB@The Original EB I believe I'm correct in saying back in the day the Sunday papers only covered the top teams and you were lucky to get any sort of write up with regards the likes of Bradford City unless it was a big FA Cup game, how things have changed.

You could be right but even back then you could usually get radio coverage, as we know from that terrible May day, Tony Delahunty was commentating on our game against Lincoln.

I can recall rushing up on to Manningham Lane after the game to catch the results in that second hand TV shop's window.
