I agree completely re Wayne Jacobs , he spoke clearly and concisely and gave a great analysis of the games. Andy K. Is not in the same league.

 

If Pulse Sport is no longer on a serious note I hope Thornton and the staff that worked on it are ok. I am sure they will all sort themselves out with different jobs or jobs within whoever takes over but the future their doesn't seem good.

 

And that's probably the most disappointing aspect from my perspective. We had two stations. One gave a more balanced view, the other a more passionate but biased articulation of the game. It catered for both audiences. We've now potentially lost that option.

I take your point, Bronco, but those of us abroad and listening on the internet have had no choice but to listen to whichever station was chosen by the official app/website. Even when we're paying for it, the only choice is listen or don't listen.

In fact, when I first moved to Poland in the early 90s, I had a short wave radio that just about picked up the World Service. Saturday afternoons would see me desperately trying to hold the radio at an angle good enough to hear the classified check. Often, interference would occur just as City's result game up. The number of times I came close to throwing the radio against the wall ...

 

Season before last it was audio only or video only. I had a whole Saturday routine built around listening to the game. Cooking and drinking followed by happy drinking if we'd won and grumpy drinking if we'd lost. Either way there was drinking. ;-)
Now, watching games with commentary is great but the family aren't happy that we have to eat later. Still get to drink though. ;-)

 

Whichever station gets to cover us next season could do a lot worse than
Mick Gledhill who commentates on the Bulls Pulse 2
No one could ever accuse him of being boring

 

Great post! Derm Tanner is freelance now. However he did commentate on our away game at Bristol Rovers late last season which was great to hear. He also had a second in command summariser called Jamie Raynor who was also very good.

Tim Steere I hope will get better. Listening to Andy Kiwomya is a cure for insomnia.

To be fair to Radio Leeds it has done more than it’s fair share for the club with coverage not only on matchdays with phone ins interviews and forums such as the one to be aired on Saturday. I agree matchday hasn’t been brilliant the last couple of seasons but hopefully this deal will improve it

 

Isn’t this just fantastic not!!! We will get AM or medium wave. They demand exclusivity but we have to share. I was swearing like a trooper when I heard this. We have to use old technology and stand inline while the other two get top billing. Wandering round the house trying to find a good reception.

 

Never said it was top notch, but at least we had exclusivity and a DAB station.

 

Ah, those phone games were my worst f*** nightmare!

 

I took it as exclusive rights to cover all 3 West Yorkshire clubs. Not exclusive rights to broadcast Bradford City games.

We have certainly come a long way from those days, remember well the days when the only way you could find out of how the lads were going was to actually ring the club who they we were playing on the day/night.
You'll remember the days when you had to put your pennies into the phone box before getting through, you hoped the person on the other end told you the score or it could cost you a bob or two.
