    1. We will be in The championship by then
    2. Likely to be £500 plus
    3. At least 20,000 every home match
    4. Through the roof due to our magnificent rise

Absolutely yes, the money saved on not buying a ground will catapult us into the Champions League.

Because you still haven't come up with a viable alternative to Valley Parade. Remember, the rent isn't astronomical.

He swapped City in a top trump game with the then Chairman and he ended up with Scarborough. I doubt Richmond ever put a penny of his own money into us, he was a master at using banks and other people to do that.

From what I gather he had all his assets in his wife's name but must have been skint as she had to sell her 1ER number plate. The man was a genius with other peoples money.

Even the carpets and kitchen fittings in the offices was rented. About the only thing that wasn’t was the toilet paper!

If I remember right, we had trouble the transfer window after he left because even the fax machine was rented and had been taken away and the EFL still use faxes for player registration.

Throw away your shovel mate, after several have explained the current situation and given their opinion of what could happen in the future you're still digging the hole, I think Gordon Gibb will have more to do than laugh at us, at the time of the second administration Gordon Gibb was not the vindictive one, he could have walked away and who'd have bought the stadium then, like it or not him purchasing the stadium actually gave our club a chance to get it's house in order.

Charlton were absent from the Valley for seven seasons, five at Selhurst & two at the Boleyn. I believe the arrangement with WH was the ground came free, but policing and stewarding costs were paid for by Charlton. All catering and hospitality went to WH. I think the Nigels charged a hefty fee for using Selhurst though.

I don’t think it’s getting through to some people that sometimes tough decisions have to be made to allow clubs to rebuild and get their shit together.
I’m certain none of the clubs fans who’ve had to share temporarily enjoyed the process but from what I can see all of those clubs are now in a better position than we are. Take Brighton as another example. They were a big club in the 80’s, holding their own in the top flight but fell on hard times, had to leave their ground to play at the Withdean. I’m sure the fans didn’t enjoy that and I’m certain the club lost out on potential earnings by not having a bigger stadium. But look at them now!! Would you swap places? Clinging onto a 25000 seat stadium, paying ridiculous rent just in case we get a big home cup draw……
Valley Parade needs Championship football as a minimum to make it justifiable and I don’t see any evidence from the owners that suggests we’ll have that anytime soon. Certainly not in the next 7 years when a decision on the lease is needed.

You're talking like Brighton slowly built up their position and assets from being practically groundless and potless to challenging in the Prem. The reality is they were purchased by a very wealthy individual and he's the reason that they're now in top division. Their owner invested £93m in building their new ground. City would still have play somewhere if they told the FLPF that they didn't want to continue the lease on VP. Without someone who's willing to invest vast amounts of money, there isn't currently any viable alternatives to the present situation.

It took me around 30 seconds to find out that Brighton sold the Goldstone for £7,000,000 which is the equivalent of £13,800,000 today, and it was sold by the clubs owners to clear debt.

They didn't have to sell it, but saw it as a way of making a fresh start. A good chunk of the cost of the Falmer Ground has/ is being recouped with American Express's £100 million 12 year sponsorship of Brighton (from 2019) which itself was an extension of a big deal first signed in 2013.

So your example of Brighton is hugely flawed as they are a money bags club and have always been able to attract players because of their proximity to London.

    Anyone free tomorrow?

Maybe trawl through the Pandora Papers and start tapping up those listed to see if they want to realise the dream of owning a football club?
