I get that, I hope that things do turn around and we survive.. but in all honesty I have lost all hope of that happening with McCall in charge.

Playing Devil’s advocate but what’s to say what McCall was demanding is correct? I mean taking BRE in isolation, how many goals did he score last season prior to Stuart’s arrival?

Football is an incredibly tough industry to break in to, but these players have done it.. they can’t all have just been lucky and then we’ve somehow managed to recruit all of them. Something is drastically wrong on the field and training pitch, the blame for that must rest solely at Stuart’s feet and I’m sorry but his managerial history only merely demonstrates that he has no idea how to turn this kind of thing around.

Stuart will leave the club for good this season, I have absolutely no doubt about that, I just hope that when he does there is enough time for another manager to save us.

He isn't picking the bloody players..Wow lets get Edin back.

His job will be to do the deals unless we do get a DOF then it will be his role but Rupp shouldn't be picking any player we want.

Don't panic, we are just holding out for Sheffield Utd to sack Wilder. Then we pounce.

Someone joked earlier about #tags but maybe that isn’t a bad idea? Hijack #bradfordcity and other related tags on match day with a protest #tag.
Tag Simon Parker the club and potentially national journos?
Does Rupp have a Twitter? Get him in too if so

It is partly about McCall. When even the fans could discern that the squad assembled from March this year wasn't either good enough or deep enough. Then he should have done more to ensure that injuries wouldn't have proved so critical to the team's performance. By at least making sure that a significant injury list wouldn't have lead to performances and results that left the club propping up the league.

The sport scientists said that a lack of a proper preseason after being away from playing for so long would lead to more injuries. Even without injuries, there's no way that the same 11-13 players could continually perform at their best across even half a season without being rested occasionally.

I get the distinct impression that this season's playing budget has been significantly reduced. McCall has protected his bosses from criticism by arguing that this was a squad that he was happy with. But by doing so he's built a rod for his own back.

They're now going to have to spend a significant sum, wisely, to save the club from absolute oblivion. From previous transfer window activity, it's easy to see why many aren't brimming over with confidence. They could have probably spent less in the summer and we wouldn't have now been in such dire straits. But like pretty much everything else that's happened since Rupp's arrival, it's amateur hour at the big top, the club pinballs from one disaster to the next. Fighting fires rather than putting in measures to prevent fires from starting.

I agree that Ryan should not be picking players but going after the recommended ones identified at tomorrows meeting.

Dont fool yourself. Nothing will come out of this meeting and the "3rd party" will walk away feeling their time has been wasted. Thats the Bradford Way

If it was only as easy as questioning me if I'm happy with Stuart McCall @brisbanebantams@brisbanebantams, lets bring a little perspective to the debate :

May 2016 two Germans purchase Bradford City Football club with the ability finance wise to take the club forward something the two past owner admitted they couldn't do, the fan base at Bradford City could not believe little Bradford City could be on a journey back up the leagues as we had just missed out on a possible promotion to the Championship by losing to Milwall.
Within a week or so of taking the reins at the club Phil Parkinson walks out of the club, a manager who was more than happy to put his managerial record on the line with regards his previous dealings with Julian Rhodes & Mark Lawn, that to most set the alarm bells ringing, fortunately for Rupp & Rahic Julian comes forward with a suggestion to bring in Stuart McCall.

We know the rest McCall takes us to Wembley then we heard things in the back ground at Valley Parade that were not all they seemed to be, Edin Rahic actually asking McCall to resign unbelievable request.

Then we see the manager not being allowed to give contracts to players who had served the club well and were no way past their best, but the chairman knew best and they were allowed to leave, even then McCall had us in a top 7 place most of that season up until December then after a poor run of results Edin sacked him with the full blessing of Stefan Rupp lets not forget that.

So Simon Grayson comes in a manager who had a very good record at turning clubs around and getting them promoted, he lasted 4 months I believe telling Edin it was not the right time to take the job, that closed season we are told the club were going through a list of applicants some with very impressive football CV's, yet we promote a coach from U21/23 level who has no experience with regards proper football or footballers, his assistant having less than 12 months job experience at Bradford Park Avenue, but no worries Greg Abbott will be by their side for reassurance.

After just 6 games Edin has to pay Michael Collins off after giving him a 3 year contract, enter Dave Hopkin a hard nosed Scot who had a reputation for taking no sh!t and having a successful time at Livingston getting them two promotions back into the Scottish Premier League, Hopkin lasted less than 12 month's.

We move on by this time Edin's time at Bradford City had run out and the cat is out of the bag, goodbye Rahic, things can only get better so we thought, we bring in Gary Bowyer who's previous record was getting Blackpool promoted in his first season there, this is whilst working for a an even bigger nutter than Rahic, we start the season pretty well not the best football but grinding out results then we start with injuries this ultimately cost Gary Bowyer his job.

Julian once again turns to McCall hoping for a new manager bounce, the players know of the Legend status Stuart McCall is held in with regards the Bradford City faithful yet he performs no better than Bowyer and the season is curtailed by Covid.

The new season begins with fans questioning some of Stuarts and the clubs decisions, he wants a small tight squad yet we see that they would be required to play twice a week this is not helped by a number of injuries to the senior players, and Stuart struggles to correct the performances and ultimately the results and we find ourselves second bottom in league two.

So I find it quite amusing you ask "so you're happy with McCall then?" can you not see this is far more worrying that any one manager, so in reply no I'm far from happy with the present situation which has got to be a part of McCall's doing, but cant you see a pattern that has been forming from the very first few weeks of the German take over, lets sack McCall and give another manager the task of getting results from this poor squad of players and possibly one transfer window to keep our football league status it makes so much sense why haven't we thought of that before.

I posted with regards Charlie being outside the ground yesterday, I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but it's something Rupp could never get his head around giving a large part of your life to supporting your local football team.

those arguments have been done over and over again on this message board and elsewhere.. plus we've actually only sacked McCall, Collins and Bowyer. the others left of their own accord and for reasons that we can speculate on. so let's put away the myth that Bradford City keep sacking managers. we've sacked 3 of our last 5 in charge, probably a lost less than other clubs.

simple question for you @Bronco@Bronco - time to come down off that fence and pull the splinters out. nail your colours to the mast..

Stuart McCall as Bradford City manager going forward? yes or no.

Good post and I wouldn't try to defend Stuart although there could be something in your highlighted above, in which case it stinks.
I've give a rather long reply to @brisbanebantams@brisbanebantams post but was it every manager/coach that got it wrong since Rack & Ruin bought the club I'm not sure.

everyone's budget was reduced this season from the moment the salary cap was brought in.. other clubs decided to be pro-active against the cap. we didn't. abject failure of responsibility by the board and the management team.

remember all the soundbites that came out which were quickly countered in the next press release from the club? "nobody is paying fees" when we released Vaughan to Tranmere and we paid fees for Watt. "there aren't the players available" whilst everyone else was signing players around us. "there's plenty of money in the budget" and a few days later "it's hard to work in the budget." they've made their own beds and attracted criticism from their poor planning. that lays at everyone's door but when it comes to what happens on the pitch - that's McCall - and he is not good enough for not only what we want, but what we need at this football club right now.

    sentiment means nothing in football.

The ones who moan about Charlie have no idea what this football club means to. The bloke. He's been there rain or shine through more thin than thick. Yeah he's a bit bat shit crazy at times bit if the owner of this club had an ounce of the passion. Of Charlie Murgatroyd we wouldn't be in league 2 never mind fighting relegation in it.

We could very easily go down and there would still be some that can't bare to lay blame at his door. I know it's not all his own doing but FFS he knew the problems when he signed up again.

They may be an argument that has been done over and over before but they are legitimate comments, but your set agenda with regards your bias of Stuart McCall you obviously don't want to accept they could possibly be true.

Right to put your doubts to one side I believed Stuart McCall was the man to take over from Bowyer when we still had a chance of a play off place, it did not happen and so far this season it has been a disaster, but like it or not there have been extenuating circumstances, so with regards your question no I don't see Stuart McCall being the manager who can get us out of our present situation his past managerial career at Valley Parade suggests that.
Will the club sack him if we are still in this position at Christmas a recent contract extension would suggest not, but as regards my post with whats gone on at Valley Parade since the German take over I would not put may faith in the selection of his replacement, is that clear enough ?.
