I'm with @abbomf@abbomf on this - A silent partner is exactly that. Yes, I agree he must have some interest in his investment, yet it seems his concerns are not as intense as ours. Rupp will appreciate all businesses have glitches, and may consider ours as 'manageable' ?
I would imagine activity in January will be a better indicator of where Rupp stands, and where he wants to go with this particular project. Who knows - He may shock Rahic and tell him the Club is for sale - no turning back ! He knows he will get a better price for a Club heading to League two (The merchandise is not beyond repair), than one heading to the National League, 12 months on.

Mark bought into the club ,helping clear the club’s debts by doing So in 2007
    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/1452580.amp/

Then in 2008/09 he put a extra million in to help the playing budget . He was repaid the Loan over 5 years .

    2008/9

It paid off for both mark and the club

The money led to investment in the team and got us to a cup final and promotion to league one.We also went on a decent FA Cup run. If we didn’t strengthen the team how did we manage all that ? The club grew under his leadership and He then got 49 percent of the sale . So a nice sum of around 3m . He left us achieveing a higher place finish than the previous season and also amassing 19k season ticket holders .If Mark lawns stint as Bradford city chairmen wasn’t a success am not sure what Is.

Let me just quote you again

    SimonW said:
Those kinds of investments don't happen. The amount of money you have to put in to get a club to a level where they have any chance to make a long-term return is so immense you are unlikely to make it back in your lifetime.

Mark lawn did . It doesn’t matter about anything else . What I quoted and what I said are true . He made money on his investment . He put money in and made profit . You said it’s not possible

Honestly, the only thing that has a chance of materially driving change, is a boycott of games.

Edin is only going to sell up, if the club becomes unprofitable. And consequently, he'll see that he has no way of fulfilling his football dream.

Social Media can be powerful in spreading the message - but the message has to be concise. Billboards, flyovers, marches etc - all good fun, and they may even sting Edin's pride a little. But they won't change anything.

A mass boycott. IMMEDIATELY. Not a drip, drip, drip. Thing. Bang. Straight away. Gates of a few hundred, maybe a couple of thousand. That'll soon get his attention. It'll also get press and media attention. It's also quick and easy to do.

But are people willing to sacrifice in that way? Can people be hard headed? I'm not so sure. It's the only thing that might work though. And its probably the least disruptive/toxic for the players too.

He'll care as long as enough people are putting money into the club, for him to take some out.

I suspect this is starting to happen judging from the actual crowd on Tuesday night. It doesn't appear to be being done in some organised way but it's starting to look like people are taking the initiative and voting with their feet. I'm expecting more to follow the example set by others and it won't be long before the message gets through to Rahic.

I'm not convinced that organising a mass boycott is as easy as you suggest without somebody taking responsibility for that and somehow co-ordinating across all of the social media - FB, Twitter, BT, TCA etc - but also bringing on board the many thousands of fans who don't use social media. And so far, I don't see much evidence for that.

He is an ‘absentee owner’. There is a comparison to some landowners in Scotland, who own huge swathes of land, draw fees, but do not invest/maintain the asset, which slowly deteriorates and becomes less viable for those who work the land and live in the locality.

In respect of land, then Scotland introduced the Community Right to Buy: Part 2 of the Act provides for Community Bodies (CBs) to register an interest in rural land, to which they have a direct connection. Land is defined as to include fishing and mineral rights. Registration gives a CB the right of ‘first refusal’ to purchase the land when the owner puts it on the market or intends to transfer ownership. The LRRG (2014) considers this part of the Act to be “a major milestone in the promotion of community land ownership in Scotland”.

I noticed that Charlton fans have indicated that they are interested in forming a political party.
If there was a Community Right to buy, it could assist in getting a more reasonable owner, who was actually committed to the club and football, rather than seeing it as an investment.

? There is no direct comparison. He's just a businessman who's been pursuaded to invest in something outside his sphere of knowledge/competence. The money is peanuts to him and was fun for a while. I think people just want him to somehow be responsible, share the blame around, don't like rich people, take your pick.

Gosh I think he has to take responsibility for the Club that he bought. He is the major shareholder, who seems to have abdicated responsibility, leaving the running of the business to someone who evidentially is incapable! He is an absentee owner, who apparently is neglecting the current spiral of decline.

I was interested to know where Parker got the 11075 figure from for Tuesday's game? The club have always announced STs plus pay on the day since we introduced the cheap season tickets but that was completely different.

Whilst he may not be bothered (because it is away following and no direct impact on bottom line) but surely he can't have been blind that our away followings have been down significantly on previous years?

But if his responses to BCST are anything to go by.....

I posted on other threads about having need to coordinated actions, one of which could be a mass boycott...

Haven't you noticed? It's started in K block where we are! Flags downed! Drum fading out! Chants dying! This lazy arsed useless group of so called footballers don't merit the fans backing and they aren't going to get it until they bloody well start busting a gut and earning it again!
