Apparently payments have been made and it will all be officially completed shortly.

part of the settlement is that they are paying their own legal fees. To me that suggests that the payment to her will not cover her costs otherwise why wouldn’t it be Prince Andrew is paying her and her fees? Or is it just easier to make the one payment and let her settle the bills?

 

The Queen will only allow working royals to stand with her for Trooping the Colour so Harry, Meghan and Andrew will not be on the balcony, it must have been a hard call with regards your family, but the right one Ma'am.

So, with this new revelation that a crime took place on British Soil, should Prince Andrew be arrested and questioned?

 

This all has the ring of truth to it. I never believed that the reported incident between Andrew and Roberts/Guiffre was a one-off. Anyone who was hanging around Epstein as much as Andrew was must have known about all the young girls, the shenanigans going on and was likely to be involved in some of it, otherwise they’d have severed contact with him. After all, he was already a convicted sex offender before this stuff happened. Do we honestly think that Epstein was having orgies with teenage girls on his island whilst Randy Andy was turning in for an early night?

 

Stick him back on another BBC Interview. Car Crash/Comedy TV at its best.

To be fair that sounds like the goings on at the BBC in the 70s & 80s.

 

Probably true. Not to mention what all the rock bands of the 60s - 80s were getting up to on tour.

But this stuff with Epstein/Guiffre happened at the turn of this century. Awareness of and attitudes towards sexual abuse and abuses of power had moved on a long way from the 70s & 80s by then.

 

Saville wasn't outed this after his death in 2011 and then the whole house of cards, Clifford, Hall, Harris, etc all fell too.

I'm presuming many of these going ons were pre 2010 at Epstein Island.

 

Suppose it depends if there is any evidence to back up the claim and if Jane Doe3 is willing to speak to the British Police that she was forced to do it, and if Prince Andrew knew that she was forced. From memory I don't think the age bit would come into it as she wouldn't be a minor over here.

 

Yes, that’s all true. Many of these famous, powerful people were able to conceal their wrong doing until comparatively recently. But that doesn’t alter the fact that societal attitudes towards sexual abuse changed dramatically between the 80s and the noughties, when Andrew’s activities with Epstein and Guiffre were happening.

When I started field social work in 1984, reported cases of sexual abuse were very few and far between. But awareness increased massively over the following two decades as people started believing and not dismissing children who reported being abused, and as professionals became much more attuned to the signs and symptoms of unreported sexual abuse.

Nothing excuses sexual abuse of children. But the sexual activities, in the 60s and 70s, of bands and other entertainers, with ‘groupies’, often underage, were seen by society as perks of the job with willing participants, rather than sexual abuse of minors by adults who should know better. That was certainly not the case by the time Andrew was consorting with Epstein and his activities with teenage girls. Such behaviour was, by then, well established as illegal and morally wrong. As a father of girls and a supposedly responsible adult, Andrew must have been well aware that the seedy company he was keeping was well outside of acceptable behaviour for anyone, let alone for a member of the royal family.

 

I'd be surprised if this was a one off. The tip of the iceberg so to speak.
