Pre Season Friendlies

    Unlike last year's unorganised pre-season schedule, it would signal real intent if we:

    - Got our squad together by June;
    - Started our Pre-season fixtures a bit earlier than any other League 2 team;
    - Play 7 or 8 matches instead of 5, getting up to match fitness ready for the first kick of the new season.

    Also, it would be nice to have some new opposition for some of our friendlies for a change.

    With all that being said, our schedule will probably be:

    Saturday 6th July - Farsley Celtic vs Bradford City.
    Saturday 13th July - Harrogate Town vs Bradford City.
    Wednesday 17th July - BPA vs Bradford City.
    Saturday 20th July - Guiseley vs Bradford City.
    Tuesday 23rd July - Bradford City vs Bury/Rochdale.
    Saturday 27th July - Bradford City vs Rotherham/Barnsley/One of the Sheffield Clubs.

    Agree on the first point. Be good to get our squad in nice and early but the other two points mean nothing.

    Can win everyone 5-0. Means nothing. Whether we started playing them tomorrow or not.

    I’m not sure about that, only the naive were dismissing our pathetic pre season form last year, it was a pre cursor for what was to follow. No guarantee but you could tell we were going to be up against it.

    A nice away day at Brid town would be nice Scarborough would be even better but we don’t want to be playing on an artificial surface

    i'd love to see a friendly with town this pre-season, would call it Worst WY Team Final think we would do well as they have taken their crap back! ;)

    Would have thought Guiseley Farsley Harrogate & BPA would have wanted crowd pulling opposition and a team to measure their squads progress against
    Don't think any of the SouthYorks clubs would be interested in playing us

    Why do we never get lucrative PL pre season friendlies?
    The reason we won’t play Leeds or town is policing costs

    That Newcastle game was a farce, playing 5-4-1 and trying to defend, only for Stuart to say he’d never play that formation in a competitive match!

    They usually go on very lucrative tours to the USA, Asia etc..

    BD8 doesn’t quite compare.

    Look, it all depends on the managers network mainly for top level games. Collins carries no weight. Bowyer might be able to pull a few strings
