    Well Blackpool's pre-season fixtures, under Gary Bowyer, have been mostly away matches against teams from the North West, including Southport, Salford City, Radcliffe Borough, Chorley, Macclesfield Town, Crewe Alexandra, Port Vale and Nantwich Town.

    So, expect a host of away matches against Yorkshire teams one or two divisions below us.

    Usually they go to the far east to promote product Man United Liverpool etc, big money to be made abroad shirts and general mechandise.

    Probably had something to do with Oyston not wanting to open the stadium to lose money and use the pitch as little as possible.

    As others have said they go on the big money spinner tours of America, Asia, Australia and the very few they play in this country they play with their local partner clubs or friends i.e. Arsenal play Barney, Liverpool play Tranmere, Everton play Southport. Man utd don't play any 1st team pre season matches in England now apart from if they play the last game at Old Trafford. Even them games are getting less and less. Biggest hope of a premier league club will be Burnley or Newcastle like we've had in recent years.

    Indeed, I believe Chelsea are already jetting off to the USA for some games and now have to return for the europa league final.

    Ironically that now reads more like an official release of our 19/20 Dog n Duck League 2 fixtures than a list of pre season friendlies!'? Salford City play us in a pre season friendly ??? We should be so lucky!'..they'll be frying bigger fish than us next season ???

    Reading in the Brighouse Echo that Bradford City have agreed to play Brighouse Town fc at Hove Edge on Tuesday 9th July for a pre-season friendly.

    Couldn't care less, as long as the friendlies give the team the pre season fitness they require this time around.

    Some people love friendlies, and react hysterically to any defeat - but we all know they don't matter.

    If one of the top PL clubs came for a friendly (and they wont anyway) the team they would bring would be 18 - 20 yr olds who they would be looking to send out on loan when the season started. no chance of any of the "big names" playing.
