I have definitely noticed a shift in tactics and seen it in the three matches I have witnessed . That gives me hope that we can go one step further this season.
In my opinion midfield has improved with more assist and goals in there and experience as well and hopefully Smith will give us the pace and goals of a second striker.
I have big worries about defence but there is plenty of time to get that right. I also wonder if Hughes is capable we live in hope. But what I am certain of is there has been no reigning in of the budget this year

 

Billy Sharpe is obviously determined to drag the last penny out of clubs taking it to the opening weekend, For me not the kind of player for us, He could have been training with the club and teammates ready for the kick off but prefers to wait and get the best possible deal for himself over the interests of the club,

We've canceled tomorrow's friendly.

 

Unless one is going to play fringe or junior players , it is a tad close to the first league game if I were honest to get minutes into those in line for th3 starting 11 plus subs.

 

Hughes was apparently looking forward to the game saying it would be good to get more minutes into the players, put right what went wrong on Saturday and work on other things. And then we call the game off. Very strange.

The facts are there, his overreaction when things go against him, his arrogant nature, his his hissy fit when billy sharp would them up in the tunnel in the cup match. as for logic. Just study him.

He's a great manager, certainly top three of what we've had, and I'm grateful to him for that, same way i am to bfg, but he doesn't strike me as a nice bloke, in the same way bfg never did either.

Take away his achievements as a manager and he becomes marmite.

 

There are always ppl that we like and get on well with, and others less so. I try to be kind to everyone, and try to spend time with ppl I really like. I have every kind of manager during my working life who fall into the like/dislike character but I would never undermine them in public. If I disagreed and there were many times it was always done in private. He is young and head strong, but he needs to learn how the world works. Let’s hope he has learnt. Who knows what would have happened if he had said that to Fergy!

 

I think you're in a minority mate, I've seen nothing during his time as our manager or when he's returned to Valley Parade as the opposition manager to agree with you comments but your entitled to your opinion of him.
