    Same price……but…….Michelin Star. https://www.thestaratharome.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/star_lunchtasting.pdf

Basically if the Star can offer a meal at that price with all the overheads they have and the quality of the cooking and ingredients, then Cedar Court charging the same amount, is gob smacking.

Plus something which l know is close to your heart……they serve up to 5 Cask Ales.;)

I suspect City is taking a good whack of that £65, plus the room hire of course.

Why are they holding it at an asylum seekers resort when the club has perfectly good banquet facilities of it's own?
They could hire in a very good gourmet catering company and still offer the whole thing for a decent price nowhere near £65.

Because as with most things Bradford City this season, zero commonsense has been applied by the lunatics running the asylum!

If city are making a good whack out of it then fair play. Being brutal but customers are cash cows that need milking for every drop. After all it's a sales led business. Not sure why the change of venue though, might be an explanation to it.

I agree Binky, let's give full credit where it's due to players and staff up and down and across the club and celebrate their achievements. It's mean -spirited to deny a moment in the spotlight for the junior teams, the women's set-up, disability players et al. And in terms of our first team, anyone who doesn't think Brad Halliday doesn't deserve a night to celebrate being player of the year or Bobby Pointon Young Player of the Year is being very mean-spirited indeed.

Fair comment Rog, but if it being £65 at Cedar Court v £50 at VP cuts the numbers it's a false economy. Plus at VP we would get a share of the drinks take. We would get much more milk by having the cowgirls running round the McCall/ Hendrie SUite.

I see this levelled at Gillead a lot but what exactly is a productive midfielder at this level in his position? He’s part of a 2 man midfield so he isn’t playing an advanced role and has to make sure he is doing his share of the defensive work so what are we wanting from a player in this role? What are other productive midfielders in this league delivering?

You can’t have two non productive midfielders i.e. scoring goals or getting assists. Unfortunately for Gilliead he isn’t better than Smallwood as a defensive midfielder and he doesn’t outshine him in the attacking sense. That midfield 2 never dominate play, so we need better in my opinion. If we aren’t winning the midfield battles then neither of them are doing the defensive work well enough.

But what is considered productive? Are there are midfielders in this league racking up goals and assists from the same position?

My bro in laws ex is a wedding planner at Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire. Prices there are eye watering. She organised Jermain Defoe's wedding and the cost was mine blowing.

Absolutely disgraceful. How on earth did Ashton Taylor get overlooked! Fuming

Seriously though, well deserved Brad. Best full back in the league without a shadow of a doubt. Hopefully he gets another 2 year deal

This has been done to death but @Jordan@Jordan produced some very good stats from last season showing that Gillead was very, very low down on almost every single metric (successful passes, interceptions, takes won etc etc) amongst league two midfielders.

Smallwood was by far the higher of the two with some reasonably decent statistics.
