Apologies I've caused this by saying whatever trevor. What I meant was 'whatever trevor' because it rhymes rather than whatever @trevor@trevor. I hope no trevors were hurt in the posting of these comments. Be they 'trevors' or @trevor@trevor

Amazing just how some of our fans can wring in ounce of pessimism out of any situation.

Clayton has already showed more in that 90+ minutes against that on form Stockport team, than any of those replacements you cite in that admittedly terrible January 2007 window.

Now, as everyone on here, I had a lot of time for Songo, but even I have to laugh at the thought of Clayton been a downgrade on him.

Love the way that even though you've seen Clayton for a full match - you're still doubting whether he's an upgrade, but you're certain that Derbyshire is worse than Young even though we've seen him for just 20 minutes.

But it's your comparing of the players leaving now to those great players of that 06/07 season which amuses the most. Remembering that we also lost the underrated Lee Holmes and Nathan Doyle, please tell us which of the ones gone in this window, other than Wright, are of the equivalent quality? They were four key players, who apart from Bridge-Wilkinson were the best players. Is Angol really in that category? Songo'o? Young?

I'm surprised you didn't say that we would repeat 06/07 and drop down the table and get relegated!!

The only key player to have gone is Wright and we had no choice. I'd say that all the others seem, on paper, at least as good as what's gone - but January 28th is far too early to be writing off this transfer window.

I'm just keeping an eye on the scores. No surprise that Swindon are losing - their worse than us for losing when they should win and Gillingham now look a top 10 team (which makes it great that we get to play this new improved team twice of course)

Can't tell how good a window it has been until the end of the season. If we go up we laud the choices as genius, we fail to go up we question those choices. Sometimes just luck of the draw, one player can have that second half of a season that managers dream of, other side of the coin they have a half of a season to match the hapless Periara. Ultimately a manager lives and dies by his results.

The table might change, but at the start of the season if you'd given me 8th at the end of January with a guarantee of been 5th if we won our game in hand and thus just four points off the team in third place - I'd have said that's OK.

You could argue all three of Gillingham's big signings would have been challenging for a start in a playoff team so no surprise Gillingham have hit good form so quickly.

100% correct. Problem is now can't stop thinking of that disastrous 2007 transfer window and the ending to that season. As soon as Bridge-Wilkinson got crocked, I knew we were doomed.

Slowly ending up where we belong .... just below mid table. I hope Rupp is taking notice of our manager's performance this year which continue to bewilder in terms of formation, squad make up and passion even if we are flirting with the play offs.

The squad Hughes assembled in my opinion should be challenging top 3. Carlisle currently there and no disrespect they are bang average. So where does that leave us?

Currently, if either Lewis or Crichlow get injured then as far as I'm concerned we are done. No one else in the squad has played well enough not to be changed, well apart from Andy Cook but then Hughes thinks otherwise.

It's a dangerous division this season. If you're Newport, Grimsby who have all too fairly recent memories of Conference footie, you're nervously looking over your shoulder - as are Crewe, who just two years ago were in the top half of L1.

Mind you I think Rochdale are doomed - which will be ironic, when you remember the number of times they survived re-election, back in the day.

A team that's had a 'meh' run since October, but has improved in the last five matches - albeit only marginally.

If we get 20 Salford type performances, I'm getting my map out for directions to Leeds Road (not hard I only live three miles away and get the 'pleasure' of seeing that ground - thankfully, from a distance each day)

20 performances, like we had in the last 30 minutes and we could end up lower than last season

Agree with Lewis. I think Crichlow has looked slightly twitchy lately, he was certainly on of those guilty in that terrible last 30 against Rochdale - but yes he would be a miss.
