Ok, Oliver, I can see the merit in goals although for various reasons he hasn't scored many this season.

It's often said "there's quality" but if so, why don't we have more assists, goals, points?

 

You keep making this point but it means absolutely nothing if they aren't producing in the here and now.

 

I completely agree but we are where we are and we don't have much choice now but to give the lads we brought in a few games and hope in the meantime we pick up enough points to stay in touch.

I'm certainly happy to give Bola time and if he can provide an extra attacking element to our game then he'll have been a shrewd addition.

Can't tell how good a window it has been until the end of the season. If we go up we laud the choices as genius, we fail to go up we question those choices. Sometimes just luck of the draw, one player can have that second half of a season that managers dream of, other side of the coin they have a half of a season to match the hapless Periara. Ultimately a manager lives and dies by his results.

 

You could argue all three of Gillingham's big signings would have been challenging for a start in a playoff team so no surprise Gillingham have hit good form so quickly.

 

The squad Hughes assembled in my opinion should be challenging top 3. Carlisle currently there and no disrespect they are bang average. So where does that leave us?

please don’t compare Parkys side to this showed that team had a plan and it worked this lot ffs are clueless ........, Parkys team would have probably gone straight up had they bombed out of the cups early doors ......... what’s this lots excuse .............and some on here thought Parkys hoof ball style wasn’t deemed good enough for us ..............

We don't create enough quality chances to be considered an automatic promotion team. We play most games with a defensive six which cannot lend itself to chance creation with defensive sitting midfielders. At times this season i've had to watch our number '10' Harry Chapman have to drop into his own half to pick the ball up. Again a sign we set predominantly defensive. Those stats in the link are more of a true representation of what we are.

 

What baffles me is the signing of more defenders when defending hadn’t been our problem.
We needed a replacement for Wright and failed so I ask where are the goals / assists coming from if Scott Banks is still unfit?
