Must win game today, both psychologically and in terms of points. Not sure a draw is enough at this stage, we can’t guarantee anything at home.

Hopefully three points for our dedicated travelling fans. Fair play to you all, fingers crossed for a touble free trip getting there.

It's not a must win game. Must wins don't happen in December with half a season and a transfer window to go.

I agree. Whilst most would want to see us win at Plymouth, they are also fighting for their their League 1 lives. We have a tough season ahead of us and 2 or 3 points lost at Plymouth would still be 2 or 3 points less than we might have had and be a setback. But the concept of a 'must win' game against anybody doesn't sit easily with me at this stage. What would be the consequences for us of losing this 'must win' game? Will this mean that our season is now over and we should start planning for a future in the khazi division? I really hope not!

The consequences are that we'd be 5 points behind Plymouth and potentially 10 from safety. Whatever stage of the season it is that's a huge, huge deficit to overcome. We need to close the gap and not get cut adrift, we simply cannot let teams around us take points off us in our position.

Thats the importance of this game, we can make inroads into a rival relegation team if we win, Draws aren't much use to us now, we could be further back with a draw today. Time to start putting some wins on the board.

Realistically I would settle for a draw.

It would continue to build an unbeaten run. Would prevent Plymouth from pulling away from us. Psychologically it would be more positive to us than them.

Clearly this isn’t a ‘must win’ game, but to lose would be a big set back.

Like absolutely every game City go into, I hope we get a resounding victory, but then I live in the real world of 2018!

Don't think either team will go gung-ho today.
A set piece will win this game.
I expect both teams to cancel one another out in open play.
    Were talking fine margins.

Even if every result went against us and we lost 10-nil we can only be a maximum of 8 points from 'safety' (as if you can be safe in December). We could still be out of the relegation places by the end of the year with another 5 months of the season to run. Why does everyone have to be so melodramatic?

It's not being melodramatic. If Scunthorpe win today, we will be 10 points from safety, 11 points really when you look at goal difference. At what point do you think we need to put some wins on the board and not get cut adrift.

I think they would too so if we can go there with some purpose and start on the front foot and with some fight then we could get our noses in front and their fans on their back.

A Scunthorpe win today and we get beat changes nothing in terms of the distance between the bottom and so-called safety. It will still be 7 points. But hey-ho lets all get hysterical and prepare for doomsday.

No game at this point of the season is ever going to be 'must win', but figuratively speaking the players really need to adopt that mentality.

There are a lot of teams better than Plymouth still to play, so it's only going to get harder. We've been very poor at home so it's not like this being an away trip makes it easier to settle for a draw or whatever.

Its a winnable game, so hopefully we show we're a little bit better than our fellow struggles today. If we aren't better, our chances of going down remain pretty high.

Do your maths again. Gap between bottom and 5th bottom is 10 points if we lose and Scunthorpe win.

Wrong - Scunthorpe are playing Gillingham who are also on 21pts.
Gillingham will go 5th bottom mate.
