if anyone wanted an example of white privilege this is it. Total lack of understanding and empathy. I take it you think gay people should be offended by homophobia either?
Strange how you think people shouldn't care about racism yet a peaceful protest with people taking a knee offends you

Playing devils advocate here, having heard from the likes of Les Ferdinand and his take on the knee, i'm not sure other black players share his view but are worried that if they stop doing it they will seen as an 'Uncle Tom'

Exactly, there is no way that every premiership footballer can be behind this, like Southgate they are under pressure from 'above'..

Ivan Toney and Wilfred Zaha are 2 players who don't take the knee however what they don't do is say others shouldn't be doing it and try to bully them out of doing it which is what is wrong

It should be down to the individual as to whether they want to do it or not. But imagine being a black guy in a team where the rest of the team do it but you don't. In thoery people should respect that but thats not how the world of the social media pile on works. Even the main stream media would question your motives and your support of fellow black players.

It is down to the individual. Zaha and Toney have done it without issues

There will a lot more who agree with their view but will take the knee because it avoids confrontation.

As long as it draws attention to racism & creates debate, just as it’s doing right now on here then I’m all for it staying.
The time to stop is when 100% of the crowd are a bit MEH about it. Clearly from the comments on this thread were miles from that point.
My worry is it will sooner or later bubble over into crowd trouble, I know if I were stood next to someone who “booed” I’d have to say something. It’s a subject which sadly i don’t think will ever go away, however without campaigns like taking the knee it goes underground.

would you say something to someone who booed the team off at half time / full time if we losing/lost by a high score having played bad?
Booing does not make you a racist.

How about we keep doing whilst the players want to? It is them doing it and they have decided to do it.

I’d say booing a peaceful anti racism protest does point in the direction of you being racist

The players are making a stand against racism and showing that they are all united against racism, why would anyone boo that sentiment? If one of our players announced he was part of the LGBT community would you boo his team mates for making a similar gesture?
And before someone jumps in with the history of knee taking in the USA and its links to black supremacist organisations.........please give your heads a shake, in the UK, at football it’s an innocent gesture to highlight problems in society.
So does booing make you racist? I’ll let others decide that one, however it doesn’t suggest that your not!

You don't get it do you, it's nowt to do with racism it's the connection to the BLM political movement that sticks in the throat...

Has anything been said as to why we stopped doing the 'Stand Up To Racism' shirts from last season? That seemed to have resolved the issue once and for all, taking any possibly misunderstanding or disingenuous beliefs it was about something it's not and forcing the actual racists (not to say everyone booing was, some genuinely believe it's some sort of political thing. Very convenient for the others though!) to have to openly boo a gesture which can only be taken as being anti-racist.

I do not believe in booing for any reason .
I just asked if you say something to someone who booed the team off, your monologue did not include an answer .

The trouble with this gesture is that it comes directly from an organisation which has an agenda far beyond an appeal for racial equality, and includes the abolition of capitalism, and the abolition of the police and prisons among many others. It is this association that many people object to and it is unfortunate that football doesn't seem to appreciate the connection. So those who object to taking the knee are divided between outright racists, as in Hungary last night, and those who disagree with it based on a more measured assessment.

Except taking the knee started before the connection to BLM. Colin Kaepernick seemed to have started it recently but it dates back to mid 60's
