    It's obviously been consigned to history because of the more recent Nazi connotations.

    I just read the article and it even says....Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. kneels with a group in prayer prior to going to jail in Selma....under the photo!

    We know that's not the case - you're completely missing the point, mate.

    If everyone started doing nazi salutes, but told us they don't support the nazi's, yes, of course we would believe that they're not supporting the nazi's, but it would make people feel uncomfortable seeing that gesture knowing that some part of it is associated with nazi's.

    Take the Bradford fire and flares being lit in stadiums, when our idiot fans went through a phase of lighting flares in away grounds, they weren't highlighting our fire disaster, they were trying to add to the atmosphere and colour of the away end, but some people rightly associated and linked that to our tragic past.

    If people are uncomfortable with the knee being used as an anti-racism gesture, then they are more than entitled to be uncomfortable with it.

    It's probably difficult to tell from in the ground as you can't tell what percentage are actually clapping or booing. I don't think the majority actually care one way or another, they just want to watch the football and don't want the name of their team dragged through the mud on the news if the booing is massively dominant.

    I don’t know to be honest - I haven’t and wouldn’t boo it, I’m somewhere in the middle on this, I think it’s run it’s course in this format and needs to change though im just trying to understand people’s perceptions of it a bit more from both sides.

    I'm guessing that would take a pretty influential black player to say this has run its course or words to that effect then the flock will follow. personally i think they've got themselves into a situation where no one dare end it. Could become as permanent as the refs first whistle to start play.
