If it was a choice between Parky and Rahic i'd have Parky, but it is a bit like Sophie's choice.

 

Managers require lots of stars to align and sometimes a good manager is not enough, Alan muller had a sensational stint at bha first time round and a mediocre 2nd spell(same manager) If you catch a team that happens to be on the rise and you pay Burton Albion 4k for a player that scores you 36 then a good lucky manager can do no wrong. Mourino has a knack of joining up with a top side cash heavy and it has mostly worked for him. Could he do any better at Burnley Brighton or Bournemouth and would their managers fail at united, we will never know. Give me an honest hard working and loyal manager and anything else is a bonus.

 

Well Parky knows football, his record proves that.

Not on a wind up. my opinion on Phil Parkinson is well known on c&b and hasn't changed for a long long time now.

We all have opinions @Ricc but just to quote you "guys a dinosaur. and a complete fraud" adds very little to the debate, even if we accept your dinosaur comment (which I don't) it achieved what we all wanted at the time but you seem to conveniently forget that, the club was in free fall until he came onboard fact, and I don't understand your "fraud" comment care to elaborate.

Definition of fraud : wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

a person or thing intended to deceive others, typically by unjustifiably claiming or being credited with accomplishments or qualities.

If anyone is a fraud we need to look no further than our present manager who keeps telling us fans "he's a Championship manager" without showing anything like it with the players at his disposal.

 

how do you mean hes a fraud, at city all he did was improve us season on season, I would love us to play like pep's man city but we are a mid table league 1 side it will never happen, so under Parkinson we played a brand of football that at times it wasn't great but he got a 4th division club to a major cup final something very few managers in any league can achieve with his apparent dinosaur football. also if you care to look at the goals this dinosaurs team scored at Chelsea you will see he was not all about launching the ball as high and long as possible

 

That depends, I'd argue, on how far back you want to go -- modern, post-WWII, era only or overall history. Peter O'Rourke did rather well for us: FA Cup win, winning percentage, longevity.

I've figured it out, Ricc just hates success.

Much rather have pretty football that doesn't provide any progress. Each to their own I suppose.

 

I think Ricc just hates everything this club do, no matter if its for the good of the club or not, probably the most negative person anyone could wish to meet

PP is not for me but I'd take him all day long over Grayson. He was a good "fit" for Bradford City and had an ability to pre-wire up the crowd with his clever media snippets, all together, not at all like now. It's looking difficult for him, but he had his only "get out of jail card" sold to Cardiff, hardly his fault? Good luck to him in the final game, er, but I like Barnsley too & Ollie reminds me of how sh.i.t hot I am at seeing strikers...............

 

Completed the great escape today. Delighted for him.
