Yeah I had heard that. They wanted to toughen him so looked for the clubs in the north away from home at the level they thought was appropriate. I expect they select clubs they think are best suited

Yes, there is a sentence towards the very end that says that, but the vast majority of that article is about how the fans influenced his decision to stay. It very much reads that for him personally, that was the thing that swayed it for him, not what Huddersfield said to him.

 

I can't remember the names but I'm pretty sure it was a "mates rates thing". One of the coaches at West Ham is pals with one of our coaches at the time and suggested we took him on loan.

Not really, he would still have been getting the same weekly wage whether it was us or another club paying it. I don't think his decision to stay was financial.

He doesn’t really get to choose. Huddersfield ultimately decide.. it was their financial choice. If it his choice and Huddersfield wanted him here for development why would Bradford be paying a bigger contribution. Hence that was the sealer of the deal. However the others do contribute. I’ll compromise and say they were all contributing factors

Agreed. He could clearly have moved to a club higher in this league, and likely the league above. His willingness to stay here says a lot about his character and demonstrates the genuine selling point that a large, supportI’ve fanbase can have. I have it on reasonable authority that should we stay up, we’ve already agreed provisional terms for a permanent deal in the summer.
