I didn't raise it. Manningham Bantam did that when he claimed that Starmer was personally dishonourable for seeking to get a second referendum. I was merely pointing out that the Brexit leaders had already made it clear they wouldn't give up if the result had gone the other way. Unfortunately, Manningham Bantam seems unable to accept that fact.

True, if Johnson had just admitted there were gatherings which broke the rules from day 1 then 450k or whatever it was wouldn't have been wasted.

And as part of political point scoring money is being spent on someone having a beer after a day campaigning.

Maybe if that is what was asked then it may be a good point.

It's called "Partygate" though not "technical-minor-breach-of-the-guidelines-by-gathering-gate"

To me it's the overall culture of those in power gate.

We see via Dominic Cummings that he pushed for harder stricter earlier and longer lockdowns, yet he was at some of these earlier gathering, he was taking his wife to Barnard Castle on her Birthday.

Professor Doomsday Ferguson, with forecasts that people would be dying in the streets in their thousands every day was caught with his married lover coming round to his house.

The Sky TV presenters who were front and centre calling for more lockdowns were caught on a jolly.

Pier Morgan was demanding the country be locked down days before he flew off to Antigua.

Matt Hancock was shagging his personal secretary at the same time he was on TV telling people who's garden they could go into.

It's clear the whole of No 10 where the rules were made, were very loose and free with those same rules, 126 fines handed out shows the culture. There are questions about how people who attended the same gathering have been fined where as others weren't. Some one has got 5 fines, no doubt because they don't have a good lawyer or are simply just a junior member being made scapegoat.

At first I was a follower of the rules, then I got Covid and thought is that it? Why the hell is my age group being forced not to see anyone where there is little to no risk for the vast majority of us. Why is Mat Hancock telling me that someone in Shipley can see someone in their garden but me 2 miles down the road is seen to be in a high risk area, it's all bollocks.

The thing is those making the rules knew it was bollocks too, you can see that clearly now in the way they acted.

Boris could literally slap your mum in the face and you'd apologise for him. Always obfuscating.

If these pictures were published at the same time as it went on, he’d literally have been hounded out of office by a baying mob and nobody whatsoever would’ve taken any notice of any covid rules, and why would they?…The guy is a grade A moron, more so than I’ve ever thought before.

He’s going nowhere btw. We already know the narrative that will be pushed Conservative HQ. Now is not the time for a leadership contest, cost of living, war in Ukraine etc etc..Which will be gladly lapped up and repeated by his supporters.

Looks like his tactic of stall, stall, stall has won the day, they're complaining on the radio about how bored they are of all this.

Good idea to commission a report that takes forever, from an old fogey, and pay his fine from the metropolitan police who have no real appetite to punish the rich and powerful.

Conspiracy theorists in this thread, THIS is your conspiracy, why aren't you all over it?

It's this, not vaccines, not proxy wars, not rich demon-worshipping paedophiles, THIS is your conspiracy, it's actually here.

They don't do themselves any favours and effectively drag out this shitshow themselves.

The meeting with Sue Gray which had been said as been instigated by her for the last week has now been confirmed to have been instigated by No10. They also suggested to her that the report need not to be released seeing as the Police had put it all out there anyway. The times is reporting on it which is a Tory paper.

This is the death of a thousand cuts for Clown Johnson. There are now a lot of very pissed off civil servants who feel they've been made to carry the can for Johnson. More photos of other gatherings (they don't have to be parties) attended by Johnson are bound to emerge. Drip, drip, drip.

Then there's the Sue Gray report which, it now transpires, Johnson pathetically tried to persuade her out of publishing. That's going to be highly critical of the regular Friday drinks culture that Johnson presided over and clearly knew about.

Then there's the select committee looking at whether he lied to Parliament (clue: he did) - always assuming he lasts that long.

And then there'll be legal challenges to why the utterly disgraceful Metropolitan Police chose to turn a blind eye to Johnson attending gatherings that others were prosecuted for. It now transpires that he wasn't even sent a questionnaire for the leaving do he's pictured at, FFS.

This now has all the hallmarks of a government that is in its death throes. A party lurching from crisis to crisis, beset by scandals like the dying days of Major's government. A set of third rate cabinet members, led by a man who is, and always was, totally unfit to be PM. It's now a question of when, not if, Johnson goes. The man is lower than pond life. His place in history will be as the Prime Minister who made the most draconian rules since WW2, flagrantly ignored them and then lied to Parliament about it. Nothing could be more fitting.

And now they're openly talking to the 'corrupt BBC' about how rife it all was, how Johnson knew about and encouraged it, how incredulous they were about his denials, and how outrageous it is that he escaped police punishment while they got fined.

As @JonButterfield@JonButterfield said above, this is the real conspiracy stuff, not all that bollocks about George Soros, Bill Gates, vaccine chips etc.
