I see we are selling another youth product in Harry Ibbitson to a prem team. Not much more detail to be found.

Not just on here, somebody shouted abuse at him yesterday and Sam Walker had to shepherd him away. He was looking back at the person who said something and wasn’t happy.

As long as his family weren't mentioned then any criticism is warranted IMHO. He has been a total let down this season and has underperformed on many occasion and based on other captains we have had has been really really poor. My opinion of course, but he has really not lead the team to battle on many occasions. We need much better to get out of this league.

 

He has been a poor captain and disappointment, but abuse is uncalled for whether it’s to him personally or his family. I don’t think he’d have reacted the way he did if it was criticism. As poor as he’s been we as fans don’t help ourselves when we give dogs abuse to players during the match, instead of booing after it (if that’s your thing). It’s no surprise there’s a disconnect between players and fans. Just imagine how Gilliead must feel after what he’s been through at the club.

The WOAP report from yesterday nails it with Smallwood for me.
Most of the criticism of him is because his set pieces are so poor. He simply shouldn't be taking them.
Ultimately he’s not been as good as we’d hoped but he’s not been as bad as some people make out either.

 

He’s not mobile enough, and lacks any pace..but yes keep for back up only.

 

I dont disagree but for the wages he is on he can go. It can be invested much better.

 

Smallwood needs runners around him which we don’t have but overall he had just been a poor signing for us. Needs to go.

 

There's criticism then there is abusive behaviour. One is acceptable the other isn't.
