100% this. Rhodes is so out of touch with football he might as well be in Germany with Rupp.

He thinks short term and just about the books.Club goes nowhere under him.

I would release all out of contract players with the exception of perhaps O'Donnell and Reeves. Although I suspect Reeves will end up going back down south.

I would be looking to try and extend Wood's contract beyond 2021.

Other than that, try and move on Longridge, Guthrie, Vaughan, and Hornby

A massive rebuild in the summer, no matter which league we find ourselves in

I think we should sign Colin Doyle back and let O'donnell go. Not that I blame O'donnell, I just think Doyle is a more of a calming influence at the back. As well as much more of a presence at 6ft5. Plus he genuinely loved it here.

The Keeper is the least of the worries. One area of the squad we are actually strong.

Obviously, but I just think he would be better. I don't think O'donnell has actually won anything of note in his career. I was there yesterday. Did you go Granby? Or are you just presuming things?

I was there. Where have I questioned whether you were there or not? Have I missed something in regards to Doyle's winners medals? Where's the evidence that Doyle has a cabinet full of trophy's? Lower league footballers only really have the option of winning the league so I don't get your reference in regards to winning things? O'Donnell is 3 years his junior and played about 100 more games. Doyle is not required. The old ex players comfort blanket is back out again. The midfield needs sorting first, the keeper is not an issue and he wasn't yesterday either.

Then again you did say at one stage he would never play for us again!

I agree with regards to Wood and think they should be getting on with it now and not waiting until the summer when I'm pretty sure there will be interest in him. If we don't go up, I think he will be gone and that would be a big loss.

If we are still in League 2 all those players signed before relegation will still want league one wages.

No, never said that and in fact I said the opposite.

Just like Pogba he was always going to play before the end of the season to get clubs to realise he's back.

However, I very much doubt he will stay or planned to stay.

All those players? Won't AOC be the only player left under contract that was signed before our relegation to league 2?

Ian Ormondroyd is 6ft 5 and loved it. Still lives local, knows the club and all that. Does that mean he should be in the number 9 shirt?

    Average City fan player recruitment requirements;

    Lives local
Knows what it means to play for the club
    Tall
    Presence
Preferably already played for the club

I mean who cares about talent, application or how the fit in with the manager’s style of play?

Yes, the reason I didn't include him is because I don't believe he will be on particularly high wages, unlike AOC.

If Stuart is to build his own squad Reeves would likely be part of it, if he wants to stay. He would hopefully have better quality players around him.

Fordy I agree with a lot of your views but you are bang out of order when questioning Julian Rhodes. Over the years Julian Rhodes and his dad have put millions into the club.
He no longer has a financial stake in the club so any decisions he makes will be most likely with guidance of the owner (who you also want out). Unfortunately until a buyer shows serious interest we are stuck with the German.

There won’t be anymore players coming through the VP door. We will have to utilise what we have got. We have too many on the books as it is. Also no chance in hell of promotion so let’s just forget that. The secret to happiness at City is low expectations.

They have also taken £millions out of the club, And also one could argue it is his poor management decisions that has been the cause of the deficits the club report

I’m talking about the players who are out of contract like Riley, Akpan, Reeves and Gibson.
