Maybe a little harsh calling the electorate "thick as pig shit" but let's have a look at this woman who had a an arranged marriage with her cousin, luckily she managed to escape from it with the help of a neighbour, she says it was a very abusive marriage and she took many beatings.
Yet this is the same women who has been abused by a man and no doubt the way she speaks about the arranged marriage she was forced to have sex when he wanted it openly comments with regards grooming Those abused girls in Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths. For the good of diversity.”.
Not merely is it a shocking comment but she says she had similar experiences with her partner in the arranged marriage she should know what being forced to have sex is wrong.
As you are aware my last vote was not for the party I have supported all my life but I couldn't vote for a candidate who was happy to post that sort of comment when feelings were running high with regards social workers not doing there job for fear of the racist card being played.
She was also happy to retweet this comment I'm told, the US had “plenty of land” and that the move would restore peace to the Middle East, shes certainly a member of a party that has difficulty in shaking the anti-semitism claim off.
So again the comment is a little harsh but maybe the electorate of Bradord West need to question should they be voting for an MP who is happy to express her views with regards grooming it would suggest they are as @Storck@Storck says she has increased her majority over her time as Bradford Wests MP.

I've answered you on why the comparison not valid.

When General Elections come round most people will simply vote Red or Blue without even looking at what policy is being put forward because it's the way they have always done so. In many places there is little to no point in voting as your vote really doesn't matter.

Was a vote for Naz, a vote of confidence in her ability or a vote for a load of free stuff promised by Corbyn and co? On the other side of the City the MP there is moaning that benefits don't continue when people are popping out kid No5, 6, 7 & 8.

With the referendum, there is no default position. Many people on both sides will not really know what they were voting for, but there will have been many who looked at what it meant and their vote did count unlike in a general election whilst voting in a safe seat.

    Just to clarify here:

Brexit voters- Often labeled as being thick.

Naz Shah voters- Labeled above as being ‘thick as pig shit’.

That’s the comparison that’s been made hasn’t it? Not sure what the issue is here as the like for like in both cases is A) very obvious and B) perfectly valid as both sets of voters have clearly been subject to the thick/lack of intelligence tag from those with opposing political views.

It is however the reasoning you’ve provided that gets me. Voting for Naz Shah means that you support a woman who endorses child grooming gangs does it?

I guess that’s the equivalent of your Brexit vote meaning you support racists who want foreigners lynched in the streets? If the answer is no, then I’m sure you can figure out how why putting all voters under the bracket is wrong and how you’ve perfectly illustrated Offcomedun’s point about double standards. You’re willing to make sweeping stereotypes about one group of voters but not the other.

Brexit actually work these people up. All the areas what switched voted leave but had a Labour MP stood there stopping it at every attempt. Bradford West voted remain, so Naz didn't get that backlash.

The "thick as pig shit" comment. Did I miss where you have to take an IQ test to vote or is it not true that under democracy two people "thick as pig shit" could out vote someone like Albert Einstein?

    Therefore the comment stands.

Rebecca Long-Bailey has been sacked from Labour's shadow cabinet after sharing an article that "contained an antisemitic conspiracy theory".
When will they ever learn when will they ever learn, didnt take to her anyway.

Strange isn't it. The same people who were celebrating a man from Burnley being sacked for promoting material they deemed as racist are disgusted at Rebecca Long Bailey being sacked for promoting material that can be deemed as anti-semetic.

It's all great being part of the mob bashing everyone you don't agree with, but one day the mob will turn onto something you do agree with.

I'm growing to Starmer, I actually think I could vote for this Labour party.

Edin, check out who Starmer is married to and his two children and you will get a big clue why he will come down hard on those who tweet anti-semitic material.
Or allegedly anti-semitic and not just anti-current Israeli government policy of stealing other peoples lands for settlements.

At the present minute the Labour party can't afford a civil war after the general Election fiasco.

The media and doing their damnest to keep people at each others throat. At the beginning the black lives matter movement brought people together and that worried them, it doesn't fit either main parties narrative to have people together in unison, now we are more fractured as a society than we were before George Floyd was killed. How the hell does that work?

Suggesting that Israeli secret service forces have been training US agencies is a million miles away from being anti-Semitic. It's well known that they have. The media deliberately blurs the distinction between real anti-Semitism and opposition to the disgraceful hard right Israeli government, which are not the same thing at all. And plenty of people are too ignorant or lazy to appreciate the difference. So RLB has probably been unfairly treated here.

Having said that, I'm glad that Starmer has done this. It's obvious he only put RLB in his shadow cabinet because she came second in the leadership ballot. He's obviously seized on the first available opportunity to dump her. This shows that he is serious about repairing the public perception that the LP is riddled with antisemites; it clearly isn't - they are a tiny but vocal minority - but it might as well be if the public thinks it is. It also shows that he is serious about purging the Trots and Stalinists that Kinnock kicked out in the 80s and that Corbyn stupidly allowed back in. This tells me that Starmer is a tough cookie who is determined to reposition Labour as the centre left party it has always been whenever it has succeeded in getting elected.

Half of Momentum supporters voted for Starmer in the leadership ballot. A large proportion of Momentum are just enthusiastic kids. Lansman has gone, thank goodness. The responsible adults are resuming control again.

i agree, im probably to the left of starmer et al but im not so blind as to ignore the fact you don't get a prize for coming second in the election. it will be easier for us on the left to get some good policies through the door dealing with a starmer government than a tory one. as you say mate, once you're in there is when you start doing what you like

Starmer is going about it the right way, if party officials aren't behind his strategy and aims then they need kicking out. The infighting has cost Labour the last two elections, both winnable.

I would say the looney crack pot policies cost labour the last election.

The northern seat losses must go down for not respecting brexit and getting tough on immigration both of these mistakes must come on the head of starmer from the last election.

The question now for Starmer and labour is he willing to change because the door is opening with the weak immigration policies of Boris johnson(3 Million chinese can have passports and thousands illegal crossings of English channel)

My bet is no chance of this with who is in his shadow cabinet and the man himself.

It's impossible to criticise almost anything these days and it's mainly thanks to the hard left that Labour fully embraced. You can't go complaining now the social policies the LP wanted to implement is now biting them back on the arse!
