If I were McBurnie, I would stay at Swansea. He will score goals, and prove himself more than a flash in the pan.

Going to Sheffield United to struggle in the Prem seems unnecessary. Let an older player do that. A Gayle type, even a Wells.

There will be a big slice of a signing on fee going his way as well as ££££££ extra every week into his bank account, given the chance to play at the top level IMO he'd be a fool to not go, but I can see your Sheffield United comment.

Disagree I think Sheffield United and Wilder would be a good club to join. He gets the best out of players

Why are we all getting hot and bothered about this? Even if there IS a sell on fee, won't it just be going straight to Rupp? I don't think we'll be using the cash to bring in a klaxon signing, so there might as well be NO sell on fee.

Not really because if Rupp gets a good portion of money back he will be more likely to back us going forward

Ha, I didn't say that. Of course I'd love one, but if what has been said is true, then the money is going straight to Rupp, and not towards the transfer fund. Simply saying, if that's the case, then there's no point in getting worked up about it.

Don't think anyone's getting worked up, just hoping we get something from it. I get your point I was just winding you up!

First rule of business, keep your major and in our case only investor happy. If he doesn’t see it worth his while he won’t put any further money in, or worst case completely pulls the plug with our debts rising and we go pop.

    Someone still gotta pay it.

I hope it is 30 million for us but you can see why clubs are unsure on the new price

Wonder if we get this reported sell on this summer, will people still be clamouring for upgraded training facilities after the meltdown we had when Warnock had a moan?

Or has that been forgotten now?

How do you know clubs are unsure? These things are often cast and mouse affairs where the selling club usually places an unrealistic value on their asset and the buying club always try to get the player cheaper.

Deals like this can go right down to the wire to try and put pressure on either side and inflate or deflate the fee so it wouldn't surprise me if it drags on a while yet or ultimately, that we see him stay beyond the window.

Not forgotten, just put on the back burner until we get an owner with a long term vision and the funds to fund it with.

Think it will ramp up now as prem clubs only have around a month to go and most back for pre season

And yet the same Sheff Utd are reported to be planning a £22m bid for a Brentford midfielder ?

They lost about £50m before player sales in their last season in the Premier League despite the TV money. James and other players sold since the 17/18 accounts would make about £40m income, so even assuming a lower wage bill this season, albeit with reduced TV income, I’d say they probably need to sell McBurnie this summer.

Good points well made. West Brom of old maybe. I think like Stoke they tried to make the next step up but badly. In fact we did similar.

In fact maybe the success of that model is diminishing as lots of premiership sides in the modern era don’t bounce back such as hull Swansea etc
