I dont begrude @Ricc is view, we are all fans and want what is best for the club but there comes a point where we are going to have to move on from all this. When they came they said they had a three year aim, lets see where we are then. They may come true on that next season. It appears they have or are weeding out the deadwood and dry rot on and off the pitch, so lets see how the summer and next season goes first.

BUT Mezza was on record around Christmas of saying he wanted to re-sign for us and had instructed his agent to get a deal done. I recall him saying provisional talks had taken place but the club wanted to wait.

It wasn’t Mezza that rebuffed the chance of signing a contract in January.

Are you talking about the massive fifth round victories over Stranraer or Grenock Morten or the enormous semi final against St Johnstone?

Don't get me wrong, I don't buy into the fact that McCall can't win big games but those runs aren't exactly great examples.

 

The dry rot, as in those who were either allegedly part of the club within the club, making money off of us. The staff member who was involved in the racism allegation and those others behind the scenes who under their tenure have let the ticket office, club shop, and stadium upkeep fall far behind the times.

As in deadwood i mean the playing staff, admittedly this may be easier said than done. hopefully this will be the ringleaders in the squad who managed to get the others to down tools, them who are just not good enough to take us to the next level, and those who are just downright lazy

And yet in a further interview, he acknowledged that some will leave, because City could not meet their demands (or words to that effect). And as usual, I raised a point about Rhodes giving an almost identical interview to the Yorkshire Post after selling up, but he wasn’t called names like Lawn is getting.

Additionally, I raised the point that Lawn said he had sold the club to investors that could put money in that he and Rhodes couldn’t manage. At no point did Lawn say that about L1. He said they would struggle if we got promoted.

So, was Lawn wrong to say he sold to someone that could deliver this, just because the owners haven’t invested in L1?

This isn’t me arguing the toss (as you claim), but if a debate is to be had properly, all facts should be brought to the discussion, right?

 

Had City Won on Saturday ........... This thread would still exist - but more low key, as 'some hope' would have remained. The fact is - City lost, and all hope is gone. Our autopsy is now in flow, and this thread is just a part of it. So as things stand, both old and new arguments will surface again, and again - well into pre-season.
This is nothing new for seasoned supporters ........... The fact technology and social media make it easier to 'communicate' means more is said, faster than years gone by, in many a pub once or twice a week.
