Off-Season Update: Ryan Sparks (26 June 2021)

Leeds are talking to the council with regards new training facilities I bet they will be owned by a seperate company and not Leeds United AFC.

 

One area where having high value capital assets on your books, is the security it provides for borrowing money. However, we have a wealthy owner. A huge test of Rupps longer term thinking is how we approach the ground. We're over a barrell, and we may be forced into moving. But its an area where Rupp COULD fund a ground purchase/move, with the club paying him rent instead of the Flamingo Land pension fund. And it'd swell the value of the club for a resale at a point in the future.

 

On the field we are rubbish? We haven't seen them play yet Fordy.

 

Morrisons, who I think Wetherby used to work for, own a majority of their stores which is very unusal in the supermarket trade and is one of the reasons private equity firms are sniffing around it again

 

Sparks is the CEO of Bradford City. I expect him to concentrate fully on Bradford City.

I wouldn't expect him to plan for a sports hub the city could be proud of.

That doesn't mean Bradford City can't be the driving force in taking the city's sports to the next level, and benefit at the same time.

Problem is, Rupp isn't likely to be interested in such an undertaking, and our council have never shown an interest either.

But that doesn't mean we don't need to move forward if we're to establish ourselves as more than the 50th best club in England, which appears to be our upper limit at present - which is still some way off where we are right now.

 

Steady boys, the fixtures are out but we haven't kicked a ball in anger yet.

Do L***s Utd own their Thorpe Arch training ground now.

 

No they rent it at a very high rent rumored around a million a year, They are looking to build a new training ground that they will own, The owners bought the ground and now want the training facilities in house so to speak after new investment from a US American football club San Francisco 49ers who now own around 37% of the club

 

I believe the Barn and training pitches are leased to Leeds, they are owned by some called Anthony Calvert.

The Leeds United new part owner agrees, He wants to modernize Elland road and increase capacity with a new west stand and buy and build a new training complex in Leeds itself they have already identified the location, He says Leeds United will be a world class club in 3 years

 

But right now they don't own their own training facility but are a Prem league side. Hardly held them back has it @Fordy117 ?

 

That is because it was purpose built for training professional footballers with lots of pitches with floodlights and even sprinklers, all weather pitches, inside pitches, Hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium and performance measurement facilities it has one pitch that is an exact copy of Elland road. It is around 30 acres of training facilities not a couple of pitches at a school

 

A couple of pitches AND a swimming pool at a school that we can use sometimes.

 

WOW Premier league here we come!!

 

The players probably have a lot more access to the pool we currently share with 1 school than they would have if they were using the pool at Sedburgh that is used by multiple schools as well as the general public every single day of the week.
