This season it's not an issue, last season under Adams, it was the only thing to keep you sane.

To be fair to Fordy he might mean the area around Valley parade, which to be fair is like the land of the living dead non match day.

One other point. if Bradford council are involved, Government money or not. The cost will be vastly underestimated.
Centenary square and the new market and the new office block, all council projects, massively over cost.
Money from central government for four projects , Thornton road cycle way , park and ride to the south of the city, now cut in half to help pay for the other two, demolition of hall ings car park and paving of said street .
They make Dianne Abbott look like a maths genius.

Wouldn’t stop me going but absolutely it would spoil it.
Football, including the pre match pint is often the only place you see certain faces (family or friends) from different parts of the country.
Bradford City centre has a huge choice which are very orientated towards match day.
Access to the ground at Odsal would be horrific as well compared to the city centre for a lot of people also (accepted it will be better for some).

I'm not tee total but i very rarely drink. Most City fans love Valley Parade and the nearest decent drinking establishment is 15/20 minutes away and i don't hear any grumbles about it.

He said VP is a dump , not Manningham, which everyone agrees , has seen better days, although lister park is one of the best in the city. No lack of investment there.

I was brought around White Abbey as a kid as my parents worked round there and my grandad lived there. As you know it's changed massively Kev. By coincidence someone took from school took me round the area for something to eat a little while ago and it saddened me that i didn't recognise it anymore. Bradford isn't the same place i remember, its a soulless place now for me.

So how would they manage ‘fixture’ congestion? Given that the ‘Stans’, play in the same area.

Perhaps they could ground share with Keighley Cougars. Apparently they averaged 630 spectators last season.

    Super League: 10 February 2022 until 24 September 2022.

EFL League 2: 29 July 2022 and will end on 6 May 2023.

National League North: 6 August 2022 until 14 May 2023.

The stadium itself isn't a dump although most of it is at least 20 years old and by the time of the next lease will be nearly 30 years. Something worth considering when contract talks for the lease come to the table.

Agree. It wasn’t great when my Grandmother lived in Manningham, but it has deteriorated over the years.
The sad thing about Manningham and Heaton, is that there are some magnificent Victorian Houses, sadly in a state of decay.
I always joked about how much the Peel Square houses would be worth if they were in Harrogate or Ilkley. Probably well over £600,000 a pop.

Yes VP needs maintenance, like all things. We have seen more improvements in the last couple of years than in the previous decade . New seats being an example. if we can manage to improve the stadium and still have such a good squad, then someone is doing their job and i am sure said person will be well on with the lease.

As above I wouldn’t trust the council to run a bath the fact they’ve always favoured Bulls over us and ignore the potential of a decent football club and modern stadia is just the tip of the iceberg of their uselessness.

Still I can’t complain, just over 10 years ago they turned me down for a job, 2 weeks later I got one with far better pay, prospects and great colleagues. Still going strong one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I could have been getting flack for pointless cycle ways instead, gutted…

I’ve had to pull over to answer this one.

    Ok, it’s like this.

Bradford people who live there get what they deserve. As a city it claims to be diverse but it’s one of the most segmented cites in the UK.

The people who live in Bradford don’t make a difference and the council, Bradford City and other organisations run all over them. Let’s use the Clear Air Changes that are coming out on the 26th. Other people in other areas have got that stopped. The people of Bradford do nothing.

Bradford as a city is a mess and people who live there don’t express the need for development.

We talk about Osdal. Ok, for me it’s not happening but as Bradford City fans we should be asking what are the plans with VP. Are we buying it or not. When are we going to see vast improvements.

So, instead of asking me to construct a sentence, I think you should maybe start asking the powers of certain organisations what are you doing?

I live in Leeds don’t you know. I am ok Jack! I hate Leeds Utd but the people of Leeds are no mugs! The people who live in Bradford though? Hmmmm Getting what they deserve at the minute. Has to be one of the most disjointed cities in the Uk.

I've no doubt the club will know the scale of figures money wise needed for for future maintenance. I expect the club will be hoping the Odsal development will go ahead as it gives them a negotiating angle for the lease renewal

Absolutely agree. I have moved on in life, yet still it remains my home town. You don’t get rid of 45 years worth of history overnight. I can well imagine I wouldn’t know my way around the City Centre anymore yet as a kid and young adult I knew it backwards. It’s a real shame.
