Teams don’t suddenly go bad when they play us they have had a good seasons and are competing for automatic promotion. This was a poor game like so many played at this level it’s about trying to come out with three points. But under the circumstances given present standings it was a good point

 

My patience with Cook has now finally gone Kev.
He's nowhere near good enough, National League standard at best, surely MH can see that too??
Would now like to see an Angol - Periera type of partnership, along with the pace of Vernam, along with Walker for the Tranmere game.
Can't be any worse and at least we'll see some sort of pace up front and in the attacking areas.

 

A good point lol. We were lucky to come away with anything today. Understandable as there is nothing to play for

 

A hard earned point away to 4th placed side is a good result, lucky or not.

Just out of interest, as I didnt have the benefit of watching, why were we lucky?

 

But when you look at the pattern over a few years, that season was part of the cycle of regression.

Definitely true.

The Bowyer thing just feels too much like the Todd thing. A mistake, albeit in hindsight.

 

We defended well I think that is 4 clean sheets out of the las six the defence has settled a lot of work needed up front but given they have a great chance of automatic promotion yes it was a good point

We played better when the subs came on and Cooke hit the bar with a good shot.butnin truth it was a nothing performance against a side who will not trouble anyone in the playoffs.i do understand that folk on here are easily pleased though so I get the replies on this thread

 

Mmm, he wasn't what you might call nimble minded.

 

What RC Bantam doesn't get is 'situation'. We currently have a mediocre to poor squad of players who Hughes has been trying to get better organised with tactics and lay out that help them overcome their obvious weaknesses as much as possible. Does he really believe MH can suddenly turn a bunch of middling, ever inconsistent players into silk purses? There will be a massive overhaul over the summer.

 

You could copy and paste your thoughts on every match the they have picked up the points in order for them to be a team in contention for automatic promotion. No one is saying it was a great performance but it was good enough to take a point and it’s definitely two points dropped for them and a point gained for us

The two Northampton commentators were saying late into the game the chances Northampton haven't taken it wouldn't surprise them if we took the one chance we created....step up Callum Cooke with a great strike and equally good save from Roberts to push in onto the cross bar

 

It's called having an opinion. You know, which I'm entitled to. This was a lacklustre performance that only improved when the subs came on. And even then it was a poor standard of football from both sides. Again only my opinion but I was bored shitless for the majority of the 90 minutes and we can safely say the recruitment this season at Valley Parade had been nothing short of a disgrace. I trust Mark Hughes and his judgement, and that starts with bringing in a new striker that is actually capable of getting this team promotion because Andy Cook ain't that striker. I expect to see major changes in the summer both in and out, the only thing that will make this team anywhere near competing for promotion.
