Saturday against Newport should be a good test.

True but we don't look like winning 1-0 often.

QPR look like they're sacking their manager soon.

    Watford manager gone today.

The reasons managers are sacked isn't because of looking at the future it's because of the at now. Can Bowyer now transform this team because currently he looks way out of his depth!

We don't need to transform, we need to improve our current form.

And that's the point and the reason managers get sacked.

Bowyer doesn't look like he's capable of doing this. No win in 5 and tactics all over the shop.

He's a negative manager with Drury as his number 2.. it's not going to end well unless we win on Saturday and the match after.

It's vital we go back up this season and Mr Rupp if he wants some money back will be questioning Bowyer now and rightly so!

Hi Fordy. Remind me please. What has actually Drury done to reserve the sack?
Although I don't agree with you (yet) I can understand you wanting to get rid of Bowyer but surely as assistant/coach Drury is following instructions. Although I agree with you that we can and should be doing better we are entering December in the play off places. Jake Reeves is showing he will be our best midfielder once match fit, almost a new signing, and on yesterday's showing Taylor looks like he could be a big plus if kept on. Added to that it looks like Bowyer is looking to improve the squad in January.
I'm a glass half empty man myself (mainly because I like the taste of beer) but I try to be more positive.

Hi mate, I just feel Bowyer should of been allowed to bring his own team in. A number 2 isn't just there to coach in training it's about match day and helping the manager. I am not convinced Bowyer listens to him. He isn't good enough as a number 2 also. Also he reminds me of Edin and all that.

Reeves back after 2 years and people saying he's our best midfielder is worrying as he isn't match fit and not been around for 2 years.

You praise Taylor and Reeves for yesterday but we drew and dropped 2 points.

We're making hard work of this league.

If you like your beer then surely being 15 points clear come May would make you enjoy more beers and plenty of them. Right now we can't even enjoy beers are Bowyer is a negative manager who is making hard work of this league.

I don't care about crappy cup games, as they have no impact on the league.

At least, that's your opinion anyway, as you made clear when advising we played kids against Shrewsbury.

So, now we're on the same page, you can drop the 5 games spiel.

However, we need to win at least two or three games in a row to cement our position.

Failing that, we will need to string even more wins together later.

Either way, our form must improve.

You're thinking about it solely for us going up.

You don't sign the likes tops Vaughan and Donaldson to hope to finish in the play offs.

So let's say we finish in the play offs and don't go up. Then what? When does the debacle or run of excuses end for you mate?

The target has to be top 3. We have the players and Doyle to achieve it.

    Spot on
Should Doyle return he will become bang average again as we are not set up and haven't the players not to mention a manager willing to play to his strength we would also have to pay his full wage for the rest of the season a pointless move in my opinion GB got lucky when he inherited a team in Blackpool (Did you know he used to manage them by the way) that sneaked promotion he has dined out on that success long enough now and needs to prove it wasn't a fluke
With or without Doyle he needs to change the style of play or we will rot in this league for another season

His act together? We've been top three all season, and still might be if we'd played the sane number of games as the rest.

    There isn't a problem.

    Yet.

Bit harsh, but his moments of individual brilliance have largely been overhead kicks.

You can't legislate for hitting the bar multiple times.

Having said that, I'd like to see more party pieces.

He's tried. The fact that he's on an overhead kick every three games, shows that he's only getting the ball with his back to goal :)
Seriously though, I think he's hit the woodwork a lot too. Just needs a lucky break and that will get him on a run. At the moment, I see a lot of frustration coming into his game (shoulder barge on Saturday for example), and thats the side of him that has disappointed me a bit.

Vaughan was not a roaring success in the higher leagues.

Waddle was one of the best in the world!

No use going 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 or one in behind or whatever. Just keep it simple 4-4-2 most footballers understand this and if not ? Then they should be playing something else ?. Bowyer has almost consigned us to anything but 4-4-2 as we are devoid of any striking option other than Vaughan up front on his own playing the "Doyle role" ??. Its so easy when you play 4-4-2 and particularly in this league when you dont need loads of tik a takka just ball out wide launch it in to big man bang ! or he knocks it down to Vaughan wallop ! and away we go. Could this be any easier to understand ? . Saturday v Newport whats the point in thinking any other way ? because they wont be. For me might as well be playing The Lyceum Tavern ? no overthinking no clever tactics needed just get out there play and lets stamp our authority on the game ! .

I’ve been to most games this season and this is the feeling i’ve got. A team with a vision of promotion should be beating sides like Macclesfield on Saturday.

I agree on all counts. And I’ve watched his miss from the weekend again - he should have buried it, but the squared ball from Ismail should have been better - it needed playing in front of Vaughan so he could shoot first time into pretty much an empty net. Playing it almost behind him forced Vaughan to take a touch which made it a harder chance than it should have been.

Agree Bronco. So much over reaction to drawing away to a team that has only lost 1 home game since March in the league.

As you say, we sit 7th with a game in hand. Sacking the manager now would be madness and unfair.
