You're thinking about it solely for us going up.

You don't sign the likes tops Vaughan and Donaldson to hope to finish in the play offs.

So let's say we finish in the play offs and don't go up. Then what? When does the debacle or run of excuses end for you mate?

The target has to be top 3. We have the players and Doyle to achieve it.

You have slagged the team off for not being up to Reeves ability and therefore a recruitment of poor standard players and now you say we have a team capable of automatic promotion. You must be a politician. Which party do you represent?

You keep mentioning Doyle...you also (rightly) mention GB and his inability to get the best out of key players. What massive brainstorm is likely to enable GB to play to ED's strengths? He'll do what he did before and play him as a target man, which he isn't. Also we don't have a midfield set up to supply what Doyle needs, otherwise he'd be here still...with 15-20 goals to his name. Some of your moaning is bang on....some of it is just nonsense. Bowyer is a typical journeyman 3rd/4th div manager. He'll try to bend players to suit his way, he can't bend his way to suit the players he has. It's so frustrating to see the players we have playing the way they're instructed. He's obsessed with the opposition and how to combat them rather than focused on getting the best out of the talent he has available. He's typical of a lower league manager, every now and then he'll have a group of players that suit his ways and it'll work, most of the time he'll underachieve. Doyle would be better staying where he is than coming back here to rot in a system that doesn't suit him.

    Spot on
Should Doyle return he will become bang average again as we are not set up and haven't the players not to mention a manager willing to play to his strength we would also have to pay his full wage for the rest of the season a pointless move in my opinion GB got lucky when he inherited a team in Blackpool (Did you know he used to manage them by the way) that sneaked promotion he has dined out on that success long enough now and needs to prove it wasn't a fluke
With or without Doyle he needs to change the style of play or we will rot in this league for another season

Bowyer won't make it part February if he doesn't get his act together.

However, maybe we should get rid of him now if he can't get the best out of the leading goalscorer in the country.

Can't see us sacking him. It's gonna cost money to leave, money we don't have/want to spend. Rupp doesn't care about us, therefore doesn't care about the manager.
Also, not sure there are many managers out there to employ.

I'd suggest that if we don't get promoted one way or the other at the end of this season, then that's the time for the board to have a rethink about the manager. Don't think it'll happen before then.

He will certainly see the season out regardless of getting us playing or not
we wouldn't be willing to pay off his contract
As for getting the best out of the country's leading scorer if it means changing formation it's a non starter

His act together? We've been top three all season, and still might be if we'd played the sane number of games as the rest.

    There isn't a problem.

    Yet.

The one thing that is a fact is that things hav got change. Because if this m
I agree with your point about Bowyer being too obessed with how the opposition play ? Theres nothing in this league that I would over compensate for in preparation. I would focus on us and how we impose ourselves no matter who we play ?. If we get the ball down; feed the wide men and get balls into a double strike force we will have this league no question.

We're in League 2. There's a big problem. Under Bowyer we wont finish top 7

We're a top three side based on almost half a season of game play.

You have to admit, those moaning about more than individual results and performances and trying to stretch the limits of imagination to create a problem are borderline deranged.

The football is turgid but I can stomach that if we are taking the points. I’m not fussed how we get out of this league just that we do and at the first time of asking. If we don’t go up this year and the football remains painful on the eye crowds will dwindle for sure.

I’d give Bowyer the full season however anything less than promotion he can go for me.

A couple of other requests / expectations

Whilst I’ll admit we aren’t playing to his strengths, Vaughan needs to start showing he’s played at the top level, like many I was excited by his signing however apart from maybe 3/4 games at the start of the season he’s been well average for someone with his pedigree, at least Donaldson looks like he’s played at a higher level.

Secondly, that we deploy a simple a 442 formation, no boring, negative 451 or whatever formation, 2 up top to ask more questions of these god awful league 2 defences and work keepers more.

Thirdly, A pairing of Reeves and Cooke in central midfield as soon as possible

This league is shit, light years behind league 1, I’m guessing it might be the poorest it’s been for a while, If Bowyer can’t get this club out at the first attempt with a budget bigger than most then for me it would be a total failure

To be fair, only five players in the entire division have scored more than Vaughan

It’s his general play I’ve been disappointed with, as ex PL thought I might have seen a few glimpses of class, ie a goal out of the blue etc

Bit harsh, but his moments of individual brilliance have largely been overhead kicks.

You can't legislate for hitting the bar multiple times.

Having said that, I'd like to see more party pieces.

He's tried. The fact that he's on an overhead kick every three games, shows that he's only getting the ball with his back to goal :)
Seriously though, I think he's hit the woodwork a lot too. Just needs a lucky break and that will get him on a run. At the moment, I see a lot of frustration coming into his game (shoulder barge on Saturday for example), and thats the side of him that has disappointed me a bit.

He should be on ten for me, and I'd expect ten in the second half the season too.

He should be pushing 18 goals this season, and if we're top three wont all this moaning look silly?

Yep fair enough, still expected more to be honest, maybe I was expecting another Waddle dropping down the leagues :)
