My own take on it after 18 games? Well, today was another game typical of what i've seen all season. We don't get battered yet we never dominate the opposition. We create little in the way of chances yet opponents don't seem to either. We could easily finish in the top three or round the top of the bottom third about 14th or 15th. The worrying thing for me is the football we actually produce, at times its mind numbingly boring and looks devoid of quality. At this moment i'd take 7th, not because i would be happy with it but from what i'm seeing now staying in the playoffs would be a tall order.

We haven't played well all season. I think we will get out of this league but I don't think Bowyer is the man to take us further after that. His football is awful.

Jesus that was gash today - we only started playing when Bowyer changed it to 4 4 2 - tactically poor for me. We should be battering these teams, in my opinion at the moment we are mid table at best. We had a player that hadn’t played for nearly 2 years who was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch for me. I hope Reeves keeps fit and focused because he could take us into top 7. Bowyer at this stage is 5 out of 10 for me. I don’t really want him to go, I just want him to grow some knackers

Leeds were struggling to score and be an attacking force, Bielsa changed the coach and brought a new one in and a change of coaching staff is producing goals galore, There is a lesson in that somewhere

People keep saying, like your good self here, that we are mid table at best. Yet, for all our injuries this Autumn, and not particulary dominating any teams, we have being in the top 7 nearly all season. I am confident we will stay in the top 7, if not finish in the top 3.

Am I concerned about our present form?
I've been concerned since day one.
We sit in seventh at the moment but the standard in our league is appalling.
I have yet to witness a full 90 minutes domination under Bowyers tenure and fail to see how we can push for promotion with a squad of players who on paper should walk the league but fail all too often to perform as a team, who's to blame?
Drury is still part of the set up and Bowyer doesn't play an attractive style of football, say's it all really nothings changed down at Valley Parade it's the same old same.
Lacklustre performance will lead to dwindling crowds before long with the usual Boo Boys warming up in the background.
    Time for change?
Everyone will have their own opinions regarding manergerial changes during a season and as I've said we are in seventh with plenty of points to play, but change at the helm might not be a bad thing, we've gone stale and it's showing in our results.

I make it 2 league games without a win (before that it was 4 wins in 5) but yes 5 overall so we must improve.

December is a big month with 5 winnable games (opponent average league position 15.6). Visits to Orient and Carlisle who aren't having great seasons and home games with Newport, Salford and Mansfield. In terms of league positions this one is actually our toughest game.

I believe we'll beat Newport, they're also in poor league form and it feels yonks since the win against Exeter so hopefully there's a good crowd and atmosphere to get us going.

I think the problems are totally there. We haven't played well or controlled a game at all this season. That was put to one side whilst we were getting results as many of us thought the performances would come with time, as there was no way we could sustain grinding out wins every week. Well time has passed and the performances have probably gotten worse and the results have stalled. Hence, people are rightfully starting to be concerned and questioning Bowyer.

That and the glaringly obvious misuse of certain players and negative approach to games, I think spell out very real problems.

but we aren't a top 3 side but should be which is the most annoying aspect this season so far. The likes of Macclesfield are really poor, if we are struggling against them then I'm really starting to worry that we won't have enough to clinch a play off spot. That's not an over reaction to that game but to the season as a whole so far.

Living off the "youngest goalscorer in the league" record.

I like him. Think he's a good old fashioned centre forward, who is 100% committed to the cause. Despite his thankless task of being played as a target man, his head never drops. Yesterday, he even had the weight of "that miss" on his shoulders, but still got on with it, and got a goal. Definitely has a short fuse, and as much as I appreciate the dirty stuff, he does sometimes cross the line with his moaning or late challenges. Would much prefer him getting crosses onto his head in the six yard box, than sixty yard punts up to him in the middle of the park.

I'm not suggesting we sack him yet but we can't be a top 3 side if we're seventh and just about scraped a draw at Macclesfield who are besieged by financial problems, players not getting paid, they get walloped every week...

alarm bells, if they weren't ringing before, should be now. we haven't looked like a good side that should get promoted most of the season, we've got results despite that but it looks like our luck has changed the other direction in the last few weeks.

big improvement needed. if we don't, then it'll be time to look at a change.

stop being negative, stop hoofing the ball at Vaughan and let's control games, and pass the ball. and lets not have what should be one of the leagues most lethal strikers playing as a target man with his back to goal.

We are where we are we have 5 more games before we've played 50% of league games, I cant' believe some of the stuff many are posting, sack him....really, we are 7th with a game in hand over a few above us, most have accept we have not produced the kind of football that see's us 7th in the league, but the league table doesn't lie.
Yep I'm going to give him more time awaiting our injured players returning then he'll be judged, sorry guys I want success just as much as the next fan but I'm no where near calling for his head.

Definitely a cause for concern. A player who hasn't kicked a ball in 2 years was by far and away our best player. Now it looks like any positive results rely on the fitness of Reeves in our midfield which is a serious worry imo. When we have looked dangerous this season is getting the ball to Connolly and Ismail so why Bowyer insists on lumping it to no mans land avoiding the middle of the park and the wings is baffling. Bowyer needs to take a good look at himself.

Most wins were by the odd goal.If we are top 3
potential we should be winning more comfortably.

I thought BRE had learnt his lesson with his earlier
sending off,his tackle today for the pen was reckless.

We need some target practise, very poor ratio of attempts
    on target.

Your not bored of him though are you? Every minute of every day you're on here talking about him, his tactics, his formations, his signings etc etc. When people get bored of something they usually go off and find something else that interests them. A couple of poor results and you come alive, promoting your sack the manager approach, advocating we all demand more and lamenting the weak mindedness of everyone around. If there is a feeling of boredom around I suggest there's something else causing it.

Agree we saw what Reeves brought to the game even after 2 years out, let's get Donaldson, Cooke, Devitt, Palmer. and the other injuries back and fit for 90 minutes football and I think we will see a different Bradford City....oh yes not forgetting bringing Doyle back:blush: ;).

Look back from the early season debate where i post about Bowyers teams and his stats as a manager.
percentages for wins, draws and losses very similar to PP, in the 30's for each, which gave me the conclusion of around 60-70 points.
The way we are playing combined with our league position and points tally is exactly where i predicted. Just above average scrapping for the last few play off positions.

Yes as you say we have to produce in the 5 games before the January window, and if we are to get positive results from those games Bowyer needs to think about the players we have fit and at his disposal and how to get the best from then, maybe hold back with his obvious preference of 4-3-3 and give the team those 5 games with a 4-4-2 formation.
