Couldn’t agree more. Our fans are so gullible. All it takes is a manager to say the right things to the papers and he’s the bloody messiah. Ridiculous!!! Bowyer is a poor manager.

Prior to Cambridge game, my assessment of where the current squad will finish is 12th.

Getting that midfield sorted will be the crux.
Nothing stood out quality wise.
Just hope into the Autumn we don't start with loss of confidence, as its a tough old league.
When we last got promoted we just finished 7th, with a squad superior to our current one.

LC final and promotion squad, and McCall's PO Final squad were all grafting players, with competition for places spurring everyone on, topped off with skillful players. I don't see this squad being far off, if we get a few more in and they all start to gel. We won't go up with a bench like we had on Saturday.RonnieBrown likes this. -

We dominated without width and Vaughan should have scored a header, not accounting for his overhead kick.
Different game if those go in.
Nothing to do with width, imo, or there would only be one formation in football.WilsdenBantam likes this. -

Do you know under Pep Man City have spent 200m on full backs. Shocking isn't it? Man City finance fair play my ar&e.
Anyway the point about Man City is that to play 4-3-3 you need more than 3 forwards hence why Pep keeps improving on his full backs. I don't think we've the skill set to play it.
McCartan isn't good mate. I would rather you lace your boots and play for us.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...BoingBoing likes this. -

You're over-analysing. The formation is largely irrelevant, unless you happen to have a winger fetish.
We don't need to be Man City to play 4-3-3, and as for your comments on McCartan and your subsequent comment that both he and Doyle should go, you're simply being unrealistic.
It's extremely unlikely, in my eyes, that we would sign a better player than McCartan and/or Doyle at this moment in time. As you will know from my posts, I agree that both are massive let downs - neither have represented good value for money, and they never will - but getting better is a fantasy at this stage of the season/transfer window.
In terms you'll no doubt agree with, O'Connor is a bell end and a player I'd like us to improve upon - but realistically he's going to get game time for two reasons: we aren't likely to sign a better centre back at this point, and because Paudie isn't quite ready to play first team football.
When Paudie returns, let's hope it's him and MRE, but we don't have that same luxury in terms of a number 10. It's Doyle OR McCartan, and on that basis, it's got to be Shay.Wakefield Bantam likes this. -
