I'm sure once upon a time years ago each 'taken' seat had a sticker on it with 'season ticket holder' or summat like..

I have paid at away grounds and usually not received a ticket either.
What if 3 non- season ticket holders join the queue and all get given a ticket on w different row? You seriously think they would just sit in the seats designated on their tickets?
Not that this is any different from not buying a ticket to those that get one but sit elsewhereStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Storck likes this. -

Bradford City Home Match Ticket Information - 2018/2019
The main two ways to purchase home match tickets for City's Sky Bet League One fixtures at the Northern Commercials Stadium throughout the 2018/2019 season are:
- ONLINE - PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE CLUB'S OFFICIAL TICKETING WEBSITE
- In person from the Ticket Office at the Northern Commercials Stadium.
We are no longer able to take card bookings over the telephone due to impending PCI legislation which governs how we store card details.
The Ticket Office Hours of Business are:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Sunday: Closed
Saturday (non-matchdays): 9:00am - 12noon Saturday (matchdays): 9.00am - 3.00pm

It is not difficult to find. No deep Hercule Poirot skills required.
Perhaps it needs a specific link embedded in each matchday Ticket announcement? Not sure if @Fools Gold or @wetherbywhaler could make a suggestion to the ticket office/webmaster?Nick_W_ likes this. -
Im sure you recognize shortcomings in text on line which is really not very helpful as far as the uncommitted and irregular customer is concerned.
I want to make it crystal clear to the new or returning customer that he is welcome and it is easy to buy tickets .
I need to see more promotion on the website which points this uncommitted customer to either the ticket office or the website.
Make it sound easy to get the correct info to enable him make a positive decision to buy a ticket for the next game or even the next but one game.
As I have said before every empty seat at every home match is a missed revenue opportunityTony Wilkinson likes this. -

It’s very rare to see cash turnstiles in operation in higher divisions, I’m not sure why it’s such a surprise to the OP especially when such a high proportion of our home capacity is taken up by ST holders.
If we go back a decade when we only had 5,000 season ticket holders it’s perfectly reasonable to offer cash turnstiles when such a large percentage of the stadium is empty.Onside likes this. -

The info was available, however in a general section about Home tickets, rather than one specific to the individual game. Not very hard to find!
The club have picked up on the suggestion.

Apart from a missing 'L' ("eague"), this seems to cover the information required for most first time or irregular visitors:
