Hi,
I'm a City Ambassador and a former Director/Associate Director. Like Roger Owen, I've been volunteering my time at the club so I help in the commercial and marketing areas.
I've reviewed the OP and amendments have been made to the ticket information to make it clear that we don't take cash at turnstiles, how you can pay on the day via the ticket office etc. I'm in tomorrow and will review further edits.
If there's anything else that you believe will be helpful to clarify, add to this post and I'll take them into account.
Thanks.

OP had a point. I believe we should have a cash turnstile, anything at all that puts any obstacle in the way of a person turning up and giving BCFC cash is not positive. We are l.o.n.g overdue stopping the daft mechanism whereby a customer has to queue twice to gain entry, once to purchase a tickets and again to hand it over, bonkers.

The website information for Plymouth, which will be templated for use for later games has been updated;

Hopefully, it covers the points raised and makes the ticket purchase information clear with links.
Regarding the pay on the gate. This season, as with many clubs we require payment at the ticket office for home fans. There is a whole host of reasons, many of which are covered on here.
But the good news is that next year pay on the gate will return. This also ties in with the return of the original format of the flexi card.

There are a couple if reasons why you can't pay cash at the turnstile.
First and most importantly it costs the club more money to insure against it.
Second it reduces the risk of fraud/theft by the turnstile operator, unfortunately no matter what your moral code is there will always be people who steal.
Thirdly it reduces the cost through wastage of preprinted tickets, you can't allow unreserved seating in an area which has allocated seats to season ticket holders.Rogered Tart, Storck, Bronco and 1 other person like this. -
What a lot of fuss about a casual supporter not knowing what to do. I concede the club need to make it clearer on the website as it is in the club’s interest to do that. However the majority of ppl who wake up on a Saturday morning and decide to go to the footie would firstly go to the ticket office or ring up, or just turn up and ask. Why have a pop at the club? I would consider it my responsibility to organise my own entertainment and not expect every organisation to cater to my disorganisation.

Ridiculous post in my view. Go to the ticket office and get a ticket, how hard is that? Plus taking cash at the turnstiles is a security risk these days.

Operator? Then at the end of the day they are all binned. Sounds like a right waste of cash.
And then does the turnstile operator go through the pile of tickets looking for four seats next to each other, 3 adults and a child?BoingBoing, How and Nick_W_ like this. -
I think most people are missing the point of the OP. I haven't checked the website but I think part of what he is saying is that if, for some strange reason, someone fancied coming today as a one-off, it isn't clear enough on the website that although you can't pay cash at the turnstyle you can go get a ticket from the ticket office.

Too many people on this thread making a mountain out of a molehill.
In almost every entertainment venue I can think of, if you turn up without a ticket you are likely to have to queue for one.Rogered Tart, Storck and Onside like this. -
I think the OP has a valid point. Get the turnstiles sorted out once and for all. You should be able to buy a ticket on your phone as you walk up Midland Rd, scan a QR code or whatever and get in to watch. The casual supporter, by definition, is not someone that is likely to know or want to negotiate the hurdles that are put in their way. Make it simple.

Give over and go do a jigsaw or something to calm down. It's been like that all season and if anyone wanted to come to city on Saturday they'd probably have abit of commitment to us and therefore know the system.
Putting the club down over tickets now. Think we've got bigger things to be worrying about.City-since-67 and How like this.
