I played this back a number of times and this is exactly how I saw it and posted. Their player came from behind and if contact was made then it was head to elbow I hope that the efl will not only accept our appeal but will take a retrospective look at the simulation from the Oxford player and the actions of the player who ran a number of yards to push NKP over. Doubt they will. Like that ref, they are bloody useless.

 

You could say that about that Twit for the whole 98 mins yesterday in all honesty,

 

Drysdale didn’t do a lot right yesterday, but his view of this was fine - he was positioned exactly where he should be. If you watch the video he was looking straight at the incident, but what I don’t get is how he has then decided NKP has endangered his opponent, who came in from his blind side with his head ducked down.

He didn’t give himself any time to think either, the card was out immediately.

 

That was by first comment to my son I thought it would have been difficult to see the alleged offence - he was conned - the Oxford manager Robinson was questioning our gamesmanship he need to take a look at his players.

 

Questioning our gamesmanship? Oxford fans should be questioning their choice of manager as that was a typical Karl Robinson performance, nice passing and pretty little triangles but ultimately soft as shit. They’ll be asking for his head at the end of the season, he’s a manager with a way too big an opinion of himself.

From NKP after the game, he said he ran into me deliberately. I won't say what he called him but you can imagine.

 

I would suggest that fact that the referee was Darren Drysdale would win our case it's a toss up who hates us the most Darren Drysdale or the BBC .

 

The relevant part of the law is violent conduct and the determining factor (if its not a straight punch/slap or whatever) is the force of the action. A push alone does not equate to a sending off.

Scannell got sent off (rightly IMO) because he shoved the Sunderland player, hard, around the face/neck when the guy was already on the floor.

Their player on Saturday went up to NKP and pretty much just bumps into him with his hands in front of him - not a hugely forceful push.

For me, you’d have a pretty decent case for a yellow card (which wasn’t given) but I can’t agree it was the same severity as Scannell’s.

 

Tricky. Might be worth it just for Tuesdays game as I think there is enough doubt to not be classsed as frivolous appeal. Don’t think it will get overturned however as he saw the player coming and blocked him and caught him with his elbow. That’s enough to not overturn. My argument would be he had his head down and it wasn’t a swinging arm.

 

The FA have overturned Sunerlands red from the weekend which was a much worse challenge than ours. Just no consistency.

 

you can see from the two image stills the bend in the right arm and elbow out from knight-percival. i don’t think it was malicious and i don’t think he meant it or went to ‘do’ the guy - i think he was just trying to protect himself and be strong but if that’s all the ref has seen then i can see why he has produced a red card. but i do think he was quick and should have given himself a minute to think / check on the oxford player before coming to a decision. i’ve often thought our strikers, present and past, have never done enough to make the most of challenges they get from centre-halfs.

 

He just seems to run into Percival from a blind angle. I don't think NKP even knows he is there. Baffling decision but then it was Drysdale.

 

I personally don’t think the ref had good sight of that incident, and said so at the time. Furthermore the video evidence supports my view, there was one of our players blocking his view. Not sure that makes any difference unless the Lino saw it. I just can’t see any dangerous play. The ball is up in the air, with the oxford player down at waist level, nkp jumping with his arms in the air.
