From what I've seen I can't see anything dangerous. Can't even see his arms raised really although the camera pans quite late.

My main question is - what is the basis for upholding/denying an appeal?

Is the burden of proof on us to show nothing happened or if the evidence we provide is sketchy or inconclusive does the refs decision stand?

Bit of a stretch but in cricket there must be clear evidence that the on-field umpire has made a mistake in order to overturn it so wondering since the main angle is not very clear, if we can't find anything better my assumption is that the ref's decision stands. Is that right?

As I understand it the red card stands, whatever. What we would be appealing against is the resulting suspension, on the basis that there was an obvious error in the sending off decision; I believe the Commission isn't there to judge on the harshness or not of a sending off.

I personally don’t think the ref had good sight of that incident, and said so at the time. Furthermore the video evidence supports my view, there was one of our players blocking his view. Not sure that makes any difference unless the Lino saw it. I just can’t see any dangerous play. The ball is up in the air, with the oxford player down at waist level, nkp jumping with his arms in the air.

Need to get it overturned at all costs. I don't want to even contemplate Isherwood starting away to the top scorers!

This is from immediately before the 'incident' with the Oxford player (with his head down) running into NKP.

Exactly Stafford, the player is running with his head down, how can NKP be at fault.

The other thing is th3 position of the ref, he is not near enough or even aware of what is happening.

The ref has a perfect view, looking at the still, he still managed to get it wrong though.

He is too far away, and I am not sure his head is turned. If doesn’t matter though, before this incident NKP was brought down, and after much delay he gave a free kick to Oxford and he was up close and personal to that one.

I would suggest that fact that the referee was Darren Drysdale would win our case it's a toss up who hates us the most Darren Drysdale or the BBC .

I played this back a number of times and this is exactly how I saw it and posted. Their player came from behind and if contact was made then it was head to elbow I hope that the efl will not only accept our appeal but will take a retrospective look at the simulation from the Oxford player and the actions of the player who ran a number of yards to push NKP over. Doubt they will. Like that ref, they are bloody useless.

Drysdale didn’t do a lot right yesterday, but his view of this was fine - he was positioned exactly where he should be. If you watch the video he was looking straight at the incident, but what I don’t get is how he has then decided NKP has endangered his opponent, who came in from his blind side with his head ducked down.

He didn’t give himself any time to think either, the card was out immediately.

What was rather ironic was there no 5 Nelson pushed NKP over with both hands, I thought that was also a sending off offence ?.

and that was with the referee about 4 yards away ?.

That was by first comment to my son I thought it would have been difficult to see the alleged offence - he was conned - the Oxford manager Robinson was questioning our gamesmanship he need to take a look at his players.

The ref was perfectly placed, which just compounds the decision.

Not a sending off offence in itself, no.

Would be under violent conduct if so, but don’t believe it was anywhere near severe enough for that.

I thought that too. How did the Oxford playing not get sent off. Ran in aggressively with raised hands. Ok it wasn’t assault on nkp but the intent is there

Go on the Oxford forum. They accuse in off being a homer. It’s an achievement when both sets of fans think you are crap
