    I'm sure you are aware there is no constitutional requirement for a general election. The conservatives won the last general election by a landslide, you're just throwing random reasons in the air to justify being undemocratic.

    Two more years, then you can democratically have your vote.

    This is why they'll get Boris back. It's the only way they can actually say the opposite from all the points you've raised. Big mandate, same PM, back to the manifesto.

    You can see it coming - either going to look like genius or consign the Conservatives to actual history.

    This is like news from a certain Bunker.

    This party has utterly trashed any confidence the British public have in any candidate of the Conservatives.

    The world has changed since the election and in this country they are responsible for the utter decline.

    Seems like moving the deckchairs on the Titanic. Just give the British public a chance to change course.

    Boris is 7/2 to be next prime minister.

    Those are quite short odds considering what’s happened in the last year.

    He could be PM next week and then in front of the privileges committee for lying about party gate within 2 or 3 weeks of being appointed PM.

    Another example of you knowing nothing about politics.

    Im sure you are aware there is no constitution and therefore zero constitutional requirement to neither have or not have a GE. The tory back benchers are the ones who decide and the way its been going the true patriots among them are saying enough is enough. GE will be in December.

    Let's see if they can actually form a Government as opposed to tearing themselves in two over the next week.

    I agree that constitutionally there is no requirement for an election. However, as the saying now goes an hour is a long time in British politics.

    Backing of at least 100 MPs (by Monday) required to stand. That should restrict it to either 1 or 2 candidates (although 3 is theoretically possible).

    The damage this mess is doing to the British folk is really making me mad. The impact of this on us, the electorate, pisses me off, miles more than the bloody damage to the Tory party whom are dragging this country down to its knees.
