He’s saying what a lot of fans have said for a few years now regarding how the club is run, although it was the same under Lawn and Rhodes we’ve always relied on the manager to more or less run the whole club(or Rahic, let’s not go there!). Football is changing we’re still in the Nigel Clough days of a manager controlling everything, there needs to be a proper structure in place.

Don’t agree with him on fans expectations though, they’re the same at most clubs except maybe small community clubs punching well above their weight, Morecambe might need a manager soon maybe he’ll be happier there. We went from 6th to 11th during his time here, was he expecting fans to be chanting his name.

It is stating the obvious, that relatively speaking, City is a large Club with a big fan base, to be in League Two. Bolton are comparable.

Sure, just reading BT is clear evidence that the fan base has expectations that we should be pushing for promotion to, if not be established in the Championship.

When he was here, Rahic was running the show. We all know that Rahic had a bizarre approach and it is not unsurprising that Grayson opted not to stay. However the impression l got, was that he ‘gave up’ at the end of March and treaded water until the end of the season.

The club has subsequently been run by Rhodes, who seemed to have lost his drive and enthusiasm and perhaps stayed too long. So Grayson’s experience of City is rather dated.

I see little point with his comments, they have little relevance other than a historic view, from a person who seems to be quite bitter and angry. Maybe he blames City for adding to his faded management credibility. About time he assessed his own performance and why he has been sacked on a number of occasions and is currently unemployed.

Only one person on here that still would be chatting his name because he's slow! Still also saying Bowyers name I would think.

Grayson has points though but he was an awful appointment.

Shows how poor it is when it takes the u der 18s manager to get a response from the first team. To be fair to Sparks I think he has a plan of what he wants the club to achieve and what the set up needs to be to get there. All boils down to how much brass Rupp is gonna give him to work with those plans. Good organisations need quality staff in numbers and in the right positions, that's why this management position/s has to be right. We've had too much short sightedness, a long term approach is the for the future growth of this club.

Fordy. You are like a broken record. We all know the situation at City, you do not need to remind us every other post.
Administrations and owners not willing to invest in the infastructre and behind scene's set up. See's us where we are.
Without serious financial imput nothing is going to change and there is no sign of a white knight on the horizon, unless you are willing to come forward with a plan and bags of money.

Today has to be the day we appoint the new manager, game tomorrow, 3 more in quick succession, and the window imminently opening.

Fast, efficient, bold move from the CEO, let's crack on with a new regime.

Busted flush and from what I'm told by someone who also lives in Thornton In Craven, not a very nice personality either.

Simon Parker in today's T&A saying Hurst is the favourite.

Make of that what you will.

I think he will make the appointment today, although i think he talks a bit too much i do see some sort of plan of action being coordinated. Sparks knows this job is a potential stepping stone to bigger things. Where better to start adding to your CV than a basket case club with a rotten infrastructure in place, implementing new and fresh ideas alwyas goes down well with ambitious employers, especially if there is a positive outcome to those ideas.

The existing pair are already in charge Tuesday so any appointment will have a watching brief only. That doesn't stop an appointment being made but not announced until after Grimsby to avoid minds wandering and focus on winning being lost.
Focus on 3 points is the aim, anything else is a distraction.

Nowhere (also known as coronation street by the sea) and nothing. He had a massive chance to recover his reputation at bcfc and ruined it by getting in first with his excuses.

I would say he is almost a paraih as a football manager and is bitter as hell about it.

If he had stayed and even partially turned us round he would be laughing all the way to a decent job now instead of sitting in a little village outside Earby chewing lemons and trying to blame everyone else.

Not to defend Grayson's record since leaving us, or his personality as I have no idea on that side of things, but wasn't the crux of Graysons decision to leave being based his critical review of how the club was set up, the level of investment placed in the infrastructure to support the first team, and hasn't he been proven entirely correct on that score...?

I disagree on the last sentence. It doesn't need masses of investment for us to organise ourselves into a credible, well managed club. Especially with the salary cap now in place

Yes, although the alternative strategy of introducing the new manager ahead of a game they won't be involved in has also been employed by clubs in the past.

'This is your new boss. He looks forward to watching you perform to the best of your abilities.'

I can see some players reacting well to that.
