Keep up, Paul Hurst has already been reputedly offered the job and the campaign for him to be sacked has started.

I agree re style. There's no excuse for another negative hoofball merchant when there's a number of sides at this level who play good football and are well placed in the league.

With all the focus on the main man i am equally keen to see who they are bringing with them. Not sure i want to see an assistant they have carried around with them continuously. I'd like to see some different specialist skill sets that compliments the manager's.

Sparks has said he wants a manager. The manager then needs to bring in his own team that he is use too and knows.

The only way you suggestion works is if we go down a young new manager route who will then really think about the coaching team he wants around him.

If we went down the Head coach route then everything is a little different.

Hurst’s odds have drifted a little out to 9/2 with Skybet. Not that noteworthy in of itself, but hardly a sign that it’s been ploughed into by anyone.

Generally once a done deal gets to the point of reaching a fans’ Internet forum the odds plummet dramatically.

It’s all relative though, isn’t it? Ryan Lowe shortened to odds on yesterday and has drifted back out again - that’s what I mean.

The second it becomes known outside of an immediate inner circle, the odds naturally either get pulled or shorten dramatically, because at that point they’re basically donating cash (have you ever heard of anyone making any serious cash out of these markets?). VC Bet suspended their entire market last night on the basis of Ryan Lowe shortening.

The fact that Hurst’s odds are lengthening indicates that it’s unlikely this is a done deal, unless it’s somehow made its way directly to a public football forum.

Of course they don’t, but they know when an abnormally large volume of money is being placed on one candidate.

    100%..

I said to @BamyBantam@BamyBantam if Hurst isn't named by Monday would he give £50 to Bantam Talk. No reply nothing! No source! Nothing to back what he is saying up.

If it was Hurst a done deal then even with £22 cash limit plenty of people would be putting money on which then would mean the odds coming in or market suspended but that's not happening with Hurst. He's drifting in the market.

The bookies just follow the money and are reactive to that.

Agreed it happens most of the time. In the final days leading up to McCall being appointed last time the odds shortened dramatically until you would barely win anything if you placed a bet on him. I seem to recall the same thing happening with Bowyer and Michael Collins as well. I'm not saying the bookies know anything in particular throughout most of the process, but when an appointment is imminent the odds usually start shortening dramatically on the candidate who is going to get the job.

Not just about money but also volume of bets, with reference to geography, client(s) and trends, ie 'risk'.

A few random bets of £50, will be factored into the liquidity of the market with automation looking for risk factors but numerous 'smaller stake' bets, in the same area(s), with a similar customer profile, trends will not just be factored into the liquidity of the market but arouse greater understanding of the potential 'risk'. Automation highlights this very quickly.

A good read, if you have a moment.

I don't think they even had time to set up a market. Boywer sacked on Saturday and McCall took Monday training
