Really bitter view that. The recruitment director will most likely work with the coach/ manager to identify players, think that's how the model's supposed to work Rahic just turned it into a dictatorship. Can't expect the Rahic situation to happen again, Sparks has seen first hand how that's panned out..

I can’t speak for others but for me it’s about the club having long term vision and structure for once, not recruiting a manager on the back of 3 results. Had we brought a new man in after Crawley and started poorly I’d like to think people wouldn’t be calling for his head after 3 games. The opposite is true I don’t think you should hire on the back of 3 good results. It’s great what they’ve done making us hard to beat, but we also need to kick on and improve as a collective as the upturn won’t last forever. Fordy is right on this one, Sparks needs to go for the one he wants and not be swayed by a couple of results for once the club need to think long term rather than 3 games in the past and 3 in the future.

Having knowledge of players already at the club does not mean they are capable of overseeing a massive rebuild and putting together a squad that needs to be promoted next season.

I get that all out of work managers have at least one failure on their CV, however Hurst has done nothing since doing well at Shrewsbury. As I posted above, prefer the route of approaching a manager who is currently doing well elsewhere if we think it's too early for Trueman and Sellars in their careers to be given the job permanently.

I can see why we’ve bided our time too, so no complaints there. But I think a call needs making before the Morecambe game next Saturday.

They will have as much idea as any incomer it’s not as if we have had massive success in the past with established managers

Hurst was at Ipswich and Scunthorpe when both clubs were making huge cutbacks. Both clubs have struggled whoever the manager has been since

It’s a matter of who you can attract though. The last 4 games don’t gloss over the size of the rebuild this club needs and its not a palatable job for everyone.

Maybe Adams to join after the game on Saturday against his current club?

Only problem with that is managers doing well usually aren't available due to that very fact.

Possible. I still think Hurst is the preferred candidate (within the club) if we don’t go with Trueman.

We wont be the first or last club to go down this route, it can be an instinct call for the manager in question. As well as Morecambe are doing for example under Adams, I'm sure he would be tempted to manage a club with our potential.

Yet Adams was slated at Plymouth, they couldn't wait to get rid. There is no correlation in lower leagues to successful managers being successful elsewhere. That's why I'm not against Trueman and Sellers getting it. The correlation they have is with the young players in the set up that have made their way through to the first team this season.

But there's no evidence to suggest he'd be a good fit here other than he's on a good run at Morecambe? Some managers just fit a particular club right.

How much more do some people want..we don't need a knee jerk reaction, because the improvement we have seen with our own eyes given the same players is the difference between night and day. It's about the right fit for the Club and I think we are showing promise and I would keep the status quo until the end of the season. With decent dialogue between Manager and DoF we will achieve our prime aim of survival ..maybe better.

Their knowledge of our younger players could be a key factor, to be fair. A key question has to be the extent to which they have the credibility and gravitas needed with the squad. I’m not suggesting they don’t, in fact the last 4 performances suggest they do, but we need to be as certain as possible that it isn’t just a ‘new manager bounce’, to be certain that the players really are willing to take their lead from Trueman and Sellers over the longer term.

I agree about managers being a good fit at certain clubs. Maybe we already have our own good fit under our nose in Trueman and Sellars?. They would certainly be my first choice.

Maybe they see just what this clubs looking for? Honestly, I think football management is over rated in its terms of experience. Most of the success I've seen at City has been from managers with little experience other than playing. I know that's something that T and S don't have in terms of pro careers but then neither did MARK Warburton or Jose Mourinho.
