    I meant as manager.

However, the manager has to bring in his own team. I won't back it if he doesn't because that just stupid if not.

Hurst is obviously a mug if that's the case.

What does he want, Christmas off?

Honestly, if he was allowing this charade to continue for any reason whatsoever then he's not the man for us.

Depends on the circumstances. I have no idea why there may have been a delay, however, I suspect it was more the clubs decision than Hursts. Maybe he’s had to self isolate I don’t know?

I do know the players are on a strict timetable for playing, training, time off over since Trueman/ Sellars took over. That also may have been a reason. The tap mentioned that. As such, I took that as a hint that nothing will be announced until early January.

Let’s not forget that Turnbull hasn’t been officially announced either even if it’s been the worlds worst kept secret for 2-3 weeks.

    Turnbull doesn't need announcing.

Rhodes departure hasn't been announced either!

    I genuinely think that's embarrassing.

Worse, I can imagine people within the club advising it, particularly if there is an isolation-type thing happening, so as 'not to rock the boat' or whatever.

    Absolutely not acceptable.

If this 'tap' knows, then the players know, and worse, it's a question hanging over everyone's head. There is no bigger distraction than that, and absolutely zero reason not to make the announcement public so everyone knows where the club stands - including potential recruits.

There is no upside whatsoever to the club holding out in any announcements - it is amateurish drivel of the highest order, and completely in keeping with Rupp's tenure - which must come to an end ASAP.

What do we think this is, primary school? We're not denying going out with our favourite girl while secretly holding hands.

On that basis, I can only assume your source is incorrect as I refuse to believe we could be that embarrassing.

Cant get my head around what relevance it is we have only won the games by one goal?
Makes no sense to me at all. They have inherited a side with only one striker who’s half decent in Novak and he isn’t 100% fit yet. They have no wingers and a defence which they have put together in the last couple of weeks.
Just how many goals did you expect us to win by for them to be considered?

this league is tight every season, even more so this year with covid and the amount of games that will get postponed in the next few weeks I’d have thought. Plus add to it the salary cap and no one is going to run away with it. Look at newport coming back to the rest now having not won in 4 games.

Whatever happens they have done a fantastic job. Whether they want to leave it there or carry on I suppose is up to them and Ryan.
If it’s then or Hurst I take them two. I am wary of it when it’s made permanent but we keep improving

If Hurst is to be the manager the delay is probably caused by the the terms of th pay off he will be receiving from Scunthorpe.
However at the time Stuart was sacked I and I think a lot of others thought we be lucky if we picked up a point before Christmas and we got ten so we don’t need to rush

Literally all you would have to do is say 'Bradford City are delighted to confirm the appointment of Paul Hurst as manager, Paul will begin coaching on January 5th after a period of self isolation, Trueman and Sellers have the club's total support and will be working closely with Hurst to ensure the club is ready for a demanding festive fixture list and a crucial January transfer window'.

Everyone knows where they stand, everyone is reassured that work is ongoing, all pulling in the same direction, nobody can afford to drop their guard, but supposedly we're not doing that?

Is this the equivalent of the US not announcing Biden as President, or what?

Let's have some clarification. We don't need more weak ownership.

My goodness @Fordy117@Fordy117 you like to cover all options
Listen !!!! (as the great man said)
Unless we end up getting promotion which to my mind is highly unlikely Sparks is on a hiding to nothing if he appoints a new manager and we fail he has his head in his hands if we stick as we are and fail again he is wide open for criticism which I am sure you will give
It's a no win situation for him: fortunately or unfortunately the unexpected recent success has dictated this
As mere fans of the club all we can do is get behind his decision and hope it's the right one any amount of pressure on here will not change that
All company owners face similar dilemas in working life but not as public as this
Not overly impressed with Mr Sparks appointment but don't envy his plight good luck to him

Eh? You do realise he left Scunthorpe, he wasn't sacked and also, it isn't something that happened recently.

Doesn't matter what the reason, Biden doesn't start until mid January, there is nothing wrong with a transition period, even if it is as you say, just change the wording slightly.

    Clarity.

Note how when we operate without a clear vision and philosophy, things eventually go wrong?

He was sacked in January of this year. @Park bantam@Park bantam could be right it could be a compo reason. Managers can still collect a wage as long as their contract was due to run and it finishes if they take a new job

He was sacked because he failed to carry out the instructions of the owner

He's not the fella for us if that's the case.

    Unless he'd manage for free.

In that case, it all makes sense, and is the best 'cheap' possible. We'd have excelled.

Just to clarify. I only suggested it may be down to an unexpected delay (such as Self Isolating as an example) as a guess as a possible reason. That’s not to say that is the reason.
