Hopefully it's just someone lumping on a larger than normal £3.50 stake at whatever long odds Alexander was on earlier this afternoon...

 

Let's have a look at Graham Alexander:

- Too direct for fancy pants MK Dons fans
- Too 4-4-2/4-3-3 for fancy pants MK Dons fans
- Doesn't play to our current formation
- Doesn't have a concrete playing style (when he's getting criticised for his style of play)
- Was startled by MK Dons actually having a footballing identity
- Has managed the 'big bad wolf' in Salford and get them promoted to the EFL
- Did very well with Scunthorpe in League One
- Got 16 games at MK Dons
- Didn't really do much at Motherwell
- Looks like he has the 'Stuart McCall' thing going where he cannot turn around a bad run of form

I'm sure some of that particularly appeals to Sparks, who is probably going to want to bail from Bradford City having any sort of footballing identity. I can see this is as an ideal 'flip flop' appointment.

That said, he's just been sacked super quick by MK Dons, so it would be a huge step backwards in real terms. Not good enough for a team that aren't as good as us?

 

The problem here Park is a “ journalist” asking open ended questions, rather direct closed questions. The former is open to interpretation as we are all witnessing.

 

Sounds like a shoe in judged by our previous choices.

Not sure I fancy Alexander very hit and miss, I suppose as most at our level but his last appointment was a bit of a disaster :
On 27 May 2023, Alexander was appointed head coach of recently relegated club Milton Keynes Dons. His tenure started well; on 8 September 2023 Alexander was named the EFL League Two Manager of the Month for August 2023 after the club finished the month top of the table with twelve points from their opening five games. However, following a run of eight league games without a win, on 16 October 2023, Milton Keynes Dons sacked Alexander after just 16 games in charge of the club.

 

I'm not a fan of Manager's jumping straight back in, after being sacked.
They need time to reflect and work out why it didn't work, so they can improve for the next job.
Sometimes you just need a break from it.

He's now the 4th manager to be 1/3 or lower.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Alexander. He did well with fleetwood getting them promoted in his first full season then 10th in their first season in league 1. With Scunthorpe he got them to the play offs. Salford he got them promoted then to a EFL Trophy final and finished 10th on PPG then sacked with the club in 5th after 5 games which Gary Neville has admitted was a mistake. At Motherwell he started well and got them to a 5th place finish but what killed him there was losing in the Europa Conference League to Sligo. He won manager of the month in August with MK then I think it has gone wrong as he doesn't suit the club. He's always been a manager that likes to get attacking players on the pitch and score goals.

 

I can just imagine the tika taka across the back four. I've had enough of it for a lifetime.
It's boring.

 

I put 50 on the Cowleys at 5/4 this morning and now 4/1 so I suggest it's a lot more money than that that's gone on Alexander. It's not the amount that changes the price it's the liability

 

He doesn't play that type of football which is one of the reasons he fell out with MK

That £50 bet is probably the reason his odds tumbled from 5/4 to 1/2 overnight.
