What makes me giggle is all the names being banded about all will have applied for the same bunch of vacancies. Three or four in our Division?

So 102 pages into this thread and every single possible next manager has been dismissed for one reason or another .
Yet non of us know how an individual will perform at this club, irrespective of what they have or have not done elsewhere.
So glad i am not making the decision.

 

Hope Sparks isn’t weak and ignores fans, He just needs to get the man he believes in.

 

He needs to get the man in who will play the same sort of front foot, attacking football we've seen over the last 4 games. If he doesn't it will show he's learnt nothing and that he doesn't understand what this football club is about.

 

Yeah, I remember Hughes applying for the Peterborough job before he applied to us. Only 92 potential jobs and a bucket load of unemployed or ambitious young coaches.

 

Parky didn’t play front foot football but clearly is now. You need a manager that will take us up and play to our strengths.

 

We need a manager that plays the sort of football us as fans can get behind, as has been happening over the last 4 games. If Sparks brings in a manager that plays football that bores us all to tears again, he will have learnt nothing.

 

Ryan has to get a manager in who wants to entertain hopefully to win whilst entertaining, I believe after Hughes and to a certain extent previous managers if its not entertaining the uptake with regards season tickets for 2023/24 will start to decline, it was let say difficult to get excited about going to homes under Hughes I don't want to experience the same under the new man.

 

It wasn't an impressive result at Mansfield it was a dour performance against a very under strength Mansfield team. At half time a competent manager would have found a way to put pressure on to them, to create chances and win the game. Hughes didn't and just let the gane drift. If we'd have won there it may have dented their confidence and they may not be where they are in the table. Each game should be played on its merits and we could have made a better effort of trying to win it. Anyway, that's been done to death on the match thread.

 

Mansfield were unbeaten and had the same team in the matches before and after and we had a weakened team. It was a very good point as was the one in Stockport

 

Cowley now 1/2 whilst everyone else near the top of betting list drifting.

 

Good that’s a few losing money perhaps?

 

If he gets the job (whoever gets the job), and McD wins tonight....he's already coming in with huge pressure on his shoulders. Imagine him losing his first game, after McD went unbeaten (if it happens). He'll already be getting pelters from some of the fans. Not an enviable task for him or Sparks!

What are your thoughts on our old gaffer Nathan Jones?
He can't cut it in the Prem, but he certainly fired us into the Championship.
He's a bit eccentric though, you'd need to write his post- match thoughts for him

 

I’ll lay odds that IF he/we win tonight he will be “offered” the job. The length of the contract may be the key?
