There has been a lot of negativity from the crowd and chat sites in recent weeks. But maybe, just maybe, this has had the positive effect of making the manager re-think tactics, formations and team selection.

 

The annoying thing is most fans could see that, today we played it on the grass and when it got tight we launched it, nothing wrong with that they're league two players, and the plus side is we scored goals, 17 shots 7 on target thats what we want to see not 70 % possession with 1 shot on target.

 

I would be very tempted to have him on the bench Tuesday. Saturday is much more important and we need to keep him fit

 

Now Cooky is back amongst the goals i guess he's not overweight any more??

 

One win and you take over the forum again - embarrassing! Have a little love fest with the usual suspects, all is well again and act superior to all comments that question Hughes ultra negative attitude before yesterday.
Agree it probably wasn't the fans that directly caused the change of approach but Hughes did get the message loud and clear! Fortunately for him he is totally secure (financially) in life so can afford to be somewhat passive in his reactions. I am certain strong words were expressed by the hierarchy last week, the fact Hughes said it was just a 'normal' catch up might not be the whole truth.

Delighted for team and fans who braved Newport yesterday, and yes i am pleased for Hughes too. But one swallow doesn't make a summer - we must continue with a more positive, front foot approach. We are capable of better than MH has achieved so far with the free hand and backing he has been given. This must be a stepping stone to progress

 

So far this season we have played against teams that were vastly changed due to injury in Grimsby & Mansfield, ones that rested half their first team in Accrington & Wrexham, one that shipped 8 goals in a cup match and hadn't scored in a league match in 10 plus hours in Harrogate and two that had so many new players, most of them were introduced to each other in the dressing room in Crawley & Morecambe, and have scored the massive sum of 4 goals, shipped 8 and not "won" any of them. It's not good is it.

 

We do play boring football. Mind numbingly boring.

 

Don`t worry , the key players are yet to come back ,the same ones who had no impact before they were injured .

 

Tulloch is looking really good. Set that goal up and looks very tricky.

But I’m really starting to wonder what exactly Osedebe is sent on to do. Yet another Bambi on ice who’s always trying little tricks, flicks and turns but loses the ball nearly every time. By contrast with Tulloch, who looks to have excellent control and was a big threat every time he got the ball.

 

Great bit of poker by MH. We should try this again. Great win and even better performance. They deserve all the plaudits.

 

So we are now 2 points from a play off spot and only 4 from automatic. Of course this win doesn’t suddenly turn Hughes into Pep but I think it underlines the stupidness of wanting him sacked at this stage of the season.

 

Nice to see Hughes has finally listened to the section of fans that were very disenchanted in the garbage served up, and got us our first convincing victory of the season. Hopefully he doesn't resort back to the crap some are clearly happy with, and it might get him a contract beyond next summer.

 

A good result and performance. However it’s 1 win only against a poor team. We need a run of wins before getting excited. If we can back this up consistently then we might have something to shout about l.
