We have two wins (against the same team) and a draw from the 7 games against the teams currently above us in the table, not sure that really says we're really at a higher level.

That being the case we very much have our destiny in our own hands, no matter who comes out top with regards the above games someone above and around us will be losing points we have to make sure we get a maximum return from the rest of our fixture this season and could get us into an auto place.

You try and force your opinion down other posters throats, with boring regularity.

The night he scored against us for Scunthorpe he was not playing on the wing the goal he scored was a cracking ball down the channel from I believe Gilliead for him to run onto and finish, for us he flatters to deceive, but lets blame the system or that he was actually a player in the absolutely awful Scunthorpe team not because of it.
It won't matter what league City play in next season he wont be a part of it, Esia will be realest.

I agree to a point. We looked solid and as a professional unit from the back, look as good as we have since the Parky days IMO.

However interested to get your point of view of our performance going forward. Outside of Cook, where do we look like a team capable of scoring goals?

You miss the point. It’s only our results against Stevenage, where we have control, the remainder is outside our control. The rest is word salad tbh.

Fortune favours the bold and we aren’t bold enough play offs at best for us I fear

They were wasting time from the second minute. Did anyone tell them they were at home. Pass me the towel for a throw in 6 yards from their own dead ball line and throw it backwards!

But I don’t think many expect that @Bronco@Bronco , certainly I don’t. However I do expect to be much more of a threat to the opposition than we are. Right now we look really strong from keeper, back four and the holding CM. Outside of this if it weren’t for Cook having a quite brilliant season, I think we have flattered to deceive.

Walker is a prime example. No doubt he is class for this level, but somehow we fail to allow him to impact a game we have seen other talented players do so against us in the past.

Yes, I agree that Eisa will be released in the coming close season.
But there's no doubt he's been asked to play in a central role that is not his natural game.

I'd say the our resent good run of result have been fine you can define them as not being bold I believe you don't get to where we are in the league without having something about you, I fancy us to pinch an auto place with the comments @banbrotam@banbrotam posted above, but if we don't and get promoted through the play off that's Hughes and the clubs goal achieved as promotion was the aim this season.

LOL!! You sound like you're sat in a cell, been "forced' to read, every one of my posts I ever posted. Incidentally, I've hardly been on here for a week.

If fans, with their moaning 'half glass empty' comments - when we're having a great season, keep posting pessimistic nonsense, i.e. about shots on target - I'll provide a counter-argument.

Hughes has hit on a style of play that sees us within touching distance of the top three. Today was our first goal conceded in over 6 1/2 hours of football. It ain't pretty to watch and without Cook doing what Cook does we struggle for goals elsewhere but it was only a few weeks ago we looked like we might fall away from the playoffs. I don't think todays performance was any different to pretty much every other game in this good run of form. We don't create much but then its by design in how Hughes has us set up. The defensive unit very rarely if at all looks like conceding more than the odd goal. For me Hughes has to stick with what he knows works as its this pragmatic style that sees us challenging the autos.

Such is our away form this season that the last two draws feel like poor results but if we can actually win our home games then these points on the road will be valuable come May.

Overall though, this game summed up our season. Get a goal in front, don’t capitalise on the momentum to get a second and kill the game off and then concede later in the game. Our complete lack of goal threat outside of Cook is a major concern. The likes of Walker and Costelloe need to contribute more. Looking forward to getting Derbyshire back up front with Cook.

We’ve now reached the stage that it’s not about the performance and it doesn’t matter who scores for us but it’s great that Cook is creating goals for himself.

Do we look like scoring? I think our midfield 3 is problem but it has been for most of the season.

Cook and Walker are currently are main hope for goals. For me know with 2 homes we have to consider dropping Smallwood and replace with East or Banks.

Time to us our squad now.

    Well said.

We're out-performing Parkinson's side, who were 11th at this exact point in 2012/13, never threatened the autos, and were 9 points short of where we are now.

Parky's team never had a defence this effective, either, conceding double figures worth of additional league goals.

    It could be worse, lol
