Had we been 10 pts better off with the nice weather and good marketing we would have been looking at 22,000 + attendance tomorrow.

Had we actually sat top 3 spots VP would be rammed. But we're not. Mid table where it's sustainable and the club are happy with.

At a push I'd say our season ticket money has been robbed from us paying fans!

Having said that we're dicking this lot 2 nil.

I hope Rayner gets stuck in to him if we lose again.

If we play like we have I think this will be a narrow win

Why? So far he has managed to get significant improvement in a squad of players that looked like they were taking us into oblivion! He is not a miracle worker, he cannot wave a magic wand and make everything that is wrong go away. So Rayner ripping into him is a non starter as far as I am concerned.

Can we end a run of 5 consecutive home defeats and 1 win in 14 at home (league) or two wins in 20 at home in all competitions.

Another shocking season under the useless owner.

By the way, if Hughes oversees another defeat tomorrow, where will he stand in the record books for 4 consecutive home defeats upon taking over as permanent manager at City... @River_City_Bantam@River_City_Bantam?

    Rupp out

Rayner shouldn't blame Hughes but probing questions such as " Should you change tactics as the players are clearly not good enough to fit your style of play?" what's wrong with that?

We can talk all we like about tactics, bottom line is that we have very poor options up front and we will never score enough goals to be consistent.

Let's wait until next season before we start questioning Hughes if things are not going well, after he has assembled his own squad.

The squad he has inherited from Adams is nowhere near good enough, I would have thought you would have got that by now.

Far too early to be criticising Hughes.....but Delfounso central mid with Sutton wide left was a bit of a strange one. I've been critical of Watt but I hope he's back today.

He said something a couple of weeks ago about Delfounso wanting to play in the middle or something, now I know he says everyone needs to earn the shirt but perhaps he was giving a more mature pro the benefit of the doubt and giving him a chance. I'd be more critical if he does it again though! If there's one area we're not short of it is attacking midfield options!

Since Parky and McCall inheriting that squad, when did a new gaffer inherit a 'squad good enough' to build upon?

2-1 win today. Home win overdue. Sounds like Vernam may come off the bench though.

I would think that sort of terminology would alienate the players and put Hughes on an unreasonable spot. Bull in a China Shop!!
Perhaps rephrase it to, ‘given the current squad and available players, can you vary/alter the tactics, to maximise their potential’!

Totally the opposite, as a coach MH has a fundamental style of play and he wants to see which of the players can fit this plan - this will form the basis of his retained list.
Hughes will also be starting to train adaptions to this style so the team has ways of negating the opposition and again he will assess who can cope with this.
But as he said you don't just change everything overnight as the group was low on confidence after Adams, he knows the current squad has limitations and the time to start to ask questions is when we get to the back end of August. By then we should have a new squad in place, a style of play that is more ingrained and players who can be a bit more flexible to utilise tweaks to the system

Losing every game at home until the end of the season will not be good. Get a win and then go back to having a look.
